  1. Read this (you can pick up an Hev components from Yuki).
  2. I think this pertains to US Rolex ADs only. Ditto. These dials have not been made or available from Rolex for many years.

    My 1016

    Great looker.
  4. Asymmetrical pusher positioning (top pusher closer to crown than bottom pusher). I do not wear 1, so I cannot point you to a source, but I know these wide straps are readily available today & unless you need a specific design custom made, you ought to be able to find a source via google (or someone else here may be able to suggest a seller). (Pic of my wide strap in '75)
  5. Just to dot all the i's & cross the t's, I would have matched the pearl lume color to the dial lume color & worn down the CGs to match the bezel, etc, but undeniably well done.
  6. No specific recommendations, but have you searched through the dealers' offerings listed on RWG? If not, I would start there. You might also contact Andrew & Josh (or other dealers) to see if they can source this for you. Most likely, if it exists (I would be surprised if it did not), they can probably get it for you.
  7. I was thinking not. But different strokes....................
  8. As above, you certainly have most of the various quality levels of Newman reps covered. I am not fond of those wide straps (wore them back in the 70s), but the asymmetrical samples show promise.
  9. All good points & true, but I wanted to limit my comments to only those complaints I heard directly from the source.
  10. I am not a big fans of fantasy watches, but I have to say I can appreciate the work that went into this. Well done.
  11. Still Friday night & (still) wearing my classic 16014
  12. 1 of my relatives was an AD back then & $210 was alot of money for a watch. As a reference, the average Timex or Bulova cost around $29. I would also add that, in the case of Daytonas, they were not very popular watches & often had to be sold at a discount to get them off dealers' shelves. The 3 major complaints were their size (they were considered too large), premium cost & lack of auto-wind (which, by the late 60s, had become available on chronos from other watch companies).
  13. I always enjoy seeing white markers on these instead of those silly looking yellow (imitation patina) colors. I would have gone with a gen crown/tube instead of aftermarket, but I like what you have done.
  14. Diz, did the seller describe the dial as repainted?
  15. Bill - The bottom line, in my personal opinion (this is not an official RWG pronouncement by any means) is that if you agreed to sell someone an item (or gave them a reason to think or expect that you would be selling them the item) that you later gave away (or sold) to someone else, then that is pretty cold. I would never do that. On the other hand, if there was NEVER any such agreement, then I am not sure why you even posted this thread? In that case, I would simply have addressed the complainer's accusations, briefly (limiting the response to 2-3 lines), directly (in his own thread) & left it at that. It seems to me this whole thing would best be carried out between the 2 concerned parties via PM.
  16. That is the way I was reading it, too. Is that the (capsulized) gist of this?
  17. Bill - Can you encapsulate the issue in a couple of lines? That is, what is Peter's complaint that you did or did not do?
  18. Stunning work (as usual), Ubi. But I think it would look better on a nice (brown) strap.
  19. Fairly accurate 5513s are available from a number of the sellers located on RWG (VIP membership is required for access to some sections of our site). Try Josh & Andrew for starters. While I would be the 1st to applaud a nice diy dial, I think trying to reinvent the wheel when a number already exist is not the best plan. If none of the sellers on RWG have what you are looking for in stock, they may be able to source it for you. If not & you have a specific 5513 model in mind, post a good, clear pic (max size 1024x768) & we may be able to better guide you from there.
  20. To paraphrase the old saw, sometimes, YOU wear the watch &, sometimes, the watch WEARS you. Big watches (44mm+), like 20" subwoofers coupled to 2,000 watt amps in a car, are much too loud. And, while there is something to be said for knowing how/when to break (fashion) rules, most of the established purveyors of modern men's style declared the end of the big watch years ago. And for the same reason - big watches are too loud. In addition to my original post, I offer this & this. Of course, to each his own.
