As some may already know, I was 1 of the 1st to champion & embrace the SDDS when it 1st appeared at Basel a couple of years ago. You may also recall that I immediately wrote-off the Yachtmaster II, describing it as even sillier looking than the Yachtmaster I, which I still view as a silly hunk of bling with hands. That is, until they reached AD windows & I had the opportunity to try each of them on. Immediately, with the SDDS, it was apparent that Rolex must be having us all on. There was no way they could possibly be marketing such a Bloated Blob of Bling to serious divers, or as anything that a gentleman (their traditional target market) would seriously pair with grown-up street clothes. At least not without flippers, a pink wig & a big, round red nose. Oddly & strange as it may sound, I fell in love with the YMII (preferably, in a white metal). I still cannot imagine ever wearing it anywhere but on my yacht (if I owned a yacht) or at the yacht club (if I ever buy a yacht, I promise to join the club). But it really did/does strike a chord with me & if someone ever produces a truly accurate YMII rep (nothing available now comes close enough), I would probably buy it.

I am not sure I see a problem? Yes, sometimes end links do not fit absolutely perfectly (when viewed under magnification), but I suspect it would look fine when viewed without enlargement. Can you post a good, clear pic (1024x768) of the entire watch from a normal viewing distance (1-2 feet away)? In any case, unlike a rep, if something about a gen watch bothers you, you can take the watch back to the AD & see what Rolex says.

Could be a number of things. Problem with the keyless works, problem with the mainspring or problem with the crown itself. If it feels like something is slipping as you wind, then most likely a bad crown (weak/broken inner spring or worn inner splines).

As of early Wednesday morning, RWG seems to be slowing down again. So I guess we are still having problems.

I would stick to the proper bracelet (for your Sub model). The only person I have ever seen pull-off a Sub-on-a-strap was Connery (as Bond). On everyone else (including me, pairing an appropriately too-narrow Naval strap with a Bond Sub), I think it looks a bit silly So I went back to steel, which always commands attention And looks better with any Sub on any wrist

I believe 1 of those links I gave you explained that rep watches contain used or unserviced movements. Because of this you should always factor in the cost of having a professional watchmaker service (clean, oil & adjust) your 'new' rep if you want to avoid problems like you described. This is a common problem with all reps unless they are properly serviced by the owner.

Yuki's 62xx cases appear to be the same as DW's. He does not post prices, but, as Alligoat said, they tend to be higher than DW's & lower than other vendors'. I also have to say that while I have seen all sorts of problems with these cases, having the pusher locations reversed (relative to the crown position) is a new 1 on me. That I have never seen & I am sure DW would exchange the case if brought to his attention. In my experience, DW is a very honorable guy & his customer service skills (as long as he understands what the problem is) are excellent.

2 recommendations - post a request on TZ & VRF, or befriend a local watchmaker with a Rolex parts account (your telephone book & google are your best resources to locate a local watchmaker). The latter will always be your most effective partner in the search for gen Rolex parts - new or used.

Beautiful watch. You did well on it. You should use an image editor to reduce the size of your pics to 1024x768 or thereabouts to make them easier to view.

You did not bother me, but there is no 'best' anything in the rep watch game. Each & every rep contains a unique set of errors & problems. You, the buyer, has to decide which set of issues offends YOU the least. What bothers you may not bother me & vice-versa. It is always best to set your sights on a single model of watch & then educate yourself on the details of the genuine watch. That way, when you begin searching through sellers' listings/pics, you will have at least a basic idea of where each rep deviates from the gen & can then make an educated buying decision for yourself. If you are interested in a current model, the 1st thing you should do is take yourself to your local Rolex authorized dealer (AD) & try on the watch you are interested in. Unscrew the crown, wind it, set the time & use whatever complications (features) the watch has so you know what the real thing looks & feels like in your hands.

When you communicate the layout issue with DW, keep things simple & concise. DW uses translation software to communicate in English & if you get too wordy or emotional, what he reads at his end may not equate with what you meant at your end. It often helps to include a good, clear pic that demonstrates the problem. Other than DW, I am not aware of any similarly priced Daytona cases. You can try your luck on ebay, but no guarantees there.
