  1. The white Newman came with either white or red minute markers around the edge of the dial (the black dial had only white markers). By the way, please do not re-quote an entire set of pics just to add a few lines at the end.
  2. No, & I just suspended his Fender account until he restores the watch back to its proper form.
  3. Good question? I suspect they are being pinched from here. And, in that case, someone de-focused my watermark in the lower left-hand corner, which (to answer those who keep asking) is why I now place my watermarks on top of the main item.
  4. Most of the interest in Daytonas revolve around the braceleted versions, but read this, this & this (make special note of item 5 under Posting).

  6. What movement powers this?
  7. Yes.
  8. Diz - you can probably do it with sandpaper/emory paper, but you can get the job done in alot less time & with much less effort with a Dremel & grinding wheel.
  9. I believe only Rolex movements have Microstella balance wheels You may be confusing truing screws, which are used on many balance wheels to true or balance/align the wheel, for Microstella screws. A Microstella balance does not have a regulator (the lever/pin atop the balance cock) to regulate the movement. In place of the regulator, the microstella balance has a set of star-shaped (Microstella) screws that can be adjusted -- in or out -- to advance/retard the balance's speed. Here are 2 types of Microstella wrenches used to adjust the Microstella screws (the top wrench is a bit more accurate, while the bottom wrench is easier to use) By adjusting a pair of Microstella screws by small increments, you can fine-tune a Rolex movement by a second or so, which is a fairly difficult thing to do with a standard regulator. Of course, the trade-off is that a regulator is alot easier to use than tweaking tiny Microstella screws. But if accuracy is the goal (as it is with Rolex), then the extra effort required to properly tune a Microstella pays off in potentially better regulation.
  10. A few minutes of Dremeling the inner circumference of the bezel with a grinding wheel is all you need. But be sure to test frequently so you do not remove too much metal (then the bezel would be too loose).
  11. Below the coronet, the dial says ROLEX OYSTER COSMOGRAPH Oyster Daytonas have screw pushers, non-Oyster Daytonas have plain, non-screw 'pump' pushers.
  12. 1 of my DW bezels fit around a gen T21, but most require a bit of enlarging since DW's bezels are made to fit his aftermarket crystals, which are slightly smaller than the gen. So it all depends on what you receive. Sometimes they fit & sometimes not.
  13. Nice view, Sql.
  14. This (minus the red chrono hand)?
  15. Bracelet or strap, as long as its a 'Graph
  16. This is the best motorcycle action pic I have ever seen. Compliments to the photog (& rider). I prefer less exciting adventures
  17. Definitely, not genuine. Quality of this dial is good, but far from perfect. The most obvious issue is the printing of the minute totalizer (subdial at right) is not vertically aligned with the rest of the dial - if you draw a line from 6-to-12, it looks slightly tilted towards the center. Do you have a link or know of a source for a Texas Newman dial?
  18. Check the for sale sections of tz and vrf.
  19. I probably did not word that as well as I should have. What I mean was that due to the perceived value of a Newman Daytona (a good percentage of the people I come into contact with have a good idea of the general rarity/value of these watches), I generally only wear them to more high brow establishments. But, after seeing this pic, I think I need to rethink that (a bit).
  20. Sometimes, I am hesitant to wear my Newmans because I feel they may look out-of-place in anything but a formal environment. But, on Patrese's wrist, the 6239 looks as natural as a well-worn pair of old jeans.
  21. The gen crystal fit onto my 1st gen CHS (using the original rep crystal gasket, which does not form a perfect seal, so I would never swim with it) without any problem. So, my guess is that (as long as it is the same dimensions as the gen) Clark's crystal should fit as well. However, in cases like this, the only way to know is to buy the part, give it a try & find out.
  22. Wearing the 'Graph today
  23. Or post a message here. I am sure someone there can help you out.
