  1. I will probably begin the (short) workweek with my DRSD also (though mine is not Ziggy-fied)
  2. As RobbieG correctly observed, it is unique in that it is a Silver Certificate, which is long out of circulation. It is not the 1st (or last) dollar I earned.
  3. Thanks, Flex. This is my daily
  4. Sorry to say this, but the stem did break. You will need to both get a replacement stem (julesborel, ofrei, cousinsuk, etc) & remove the broken end that is still probably in the clutch gear in the keyless works (though it is possible that the broken piece could have fallen out of the watch, you may still need to open it up to verify).
  5. Thanks, but that is not just any dollar.
  6. With the exception of my daily beater, that happens with virtually every watch (the next 'big new thing' replaces the previous 'big thing' until something rekindles my interest in the previous 1).
  7. This on Sunday (but may change this evening)
  8. Both beauties & they go well together.
  9. And I thought I was overly critical.
  10. You are good if you can spot a franken, but you are dangerous when you can cite the sources of the parts used to assemble the watch. This (generally reliable) seller describes this watch as an 'Authentic Rolex GMT master 6542' What do you think? 120331075299
  11. You cannot leave any feedback when the seller's account has been removed & all of his auctions -- both active & ended -- have been pulled. Both sellers had 100% Positive ratings & sold only gen parts (mainly Rolex). I only heard from 1 of them & the complaint was apparently instigated by lawyers on behalf of the trademark owner. That is all I know.
  12. I was not aware that any of the Mystery Movements had signed bridges of any kind. But if you have 1 that is signed 'Panerai', then it is pretty obvious that some or all of these movements are being used in Pan reps. So I would think a Panerai forum would be the place to check for more info on the movements.
  13. And a gen dial........ A beauty, Alli.
  14. I believe the color differences you see are due to the fact that the gen insert is ceramic & the rep is plastic. A very nice plastic, but plastic just the same. The numbers on the gen are vapor-deposited (I cannot recall what Rolex calls its trademark name for the same process) platinum, which is why they appear a different shade than the plastic on the rep insert. As was mentioned, few will be able to detect the difference without having both side-by-side & knowing what to look for (or which is which). I also think that unless you have the chs version of the rep, spending money on a gen insert & crystal, while nice touches, will not cover up the fact that the handstack is wrong. And the errant handstack positioning is easier to detect than the crystal or missing platinum crystals in the numbers. Party on, Garth.
  15. If you have to ask, probably not. Either the crown unscrewed from the stem (remove caseback, release stem, screw crown back onto stem, reinstall stem) or the stem broke (replace stem) or the stem release in the keyless works got bent & it can no longer lock the stem in the movement (disassemble the keyless works, find/fix the problem, reassemble). If you post a good, clear close-up pic of the part of inside of the crown, I can tell you more (refer to the 'Macro' section of your camera's manual).
  16. I had a dinner date this evening (Friday) with 1 Paul Newman
  17. None are perfect, but 3 is the only 1 (of those 3) that got the spacing of the 110 correct (most aftermarket bezels, including the 1st 2, have the 3 numbers spaced too far apart......a dead give-away of aftermarketry).
  18. They usually range from $200 to $900, depending on condition, seller's experience & your timing/luck. I have never come across a Panerai bridge in a DW. But when DW runs out of MMs, I guess you gets whatever he gots.
  19. I kept the DW crystal because it looked like the original, 1st generation gen, round-cornered T21 crystal that Rolex originally fitted to early 62xx Daytonas (my other 62xxs have current version gen T21s). I fit all of my DWs with gen 19mm folded link 7835 bracelets with 357 end links.
  20. Does this mean that we will be seeing a 3-way shoot-out of EXIIs soon?
