  2. Hey, Stac, good to see you back again. I cannot help much with rep Subs, but it looks like others are.
  3. Looks like a standard rep dial to me.......nothing special......& I would never buy anything from a seller with those pics.
  4. Until/unless a member who has actually mated the 2 together jumps in, you might fare better by asking the seller of your case if it is made to OEM specs. Still, from my experience, due to the lack of QC & variability of most rep makers, regardless of anyone's experience or what a seller tells you, the reality is that until you try it with your case, there is no way to be 100% certain either way.
  5. Ditto. My only complaint (a very small 1) is that the tip of the chrono seconds hand should be opposite the color of the dial (for better visibility). In this case, it should be black.
  6. As stated........silver for 1st 2 versions.
  7. If you paid even £1500 for that Daytona, you got quite the deal.
  8. Of course, it is your watch to do with as you please, but you will destroy the innate beauty of that Daytona by having any part of it modified. More importantly, as far as Rolex is concerned, by modifying it, you have turned a genuine Rolex into a non-genuine Rolex and many Rolex Service Centers (RSCs) will refuse to work on a watch so modified. Think seriously before you move.
  9. Unlike the gen forums, all - serious watch aficionados - are welcome here. As has been said, you will find many fakes, frankens, reps and genuine watches here. As long as you have a passion for timepieces, you are welcome.
  10. Been awhile, so you might want to search out my old 1665 dial threads, but I think it was a 1-off part I found on ebay that I relumed.
  11. What a great collection of beautiful watches today, gents! I mean every 1 of them. Well done, guys. Even a rare appearance of 1 of eunomians's gems. Nice. Ending the work week wearing this old clunker
  12. I am not sure about the seconds hand, but, otherwise, me likie what I see.
  13. Works for me.
  14. Your case has the cut-out @ 9 o'clock for the 167x plate lock screw to fit into, so it looks like it may be genuine. As for a gen movement, you can ask around at some local watchmakers, but, generally, ebay is your best chance of getting 1 for less than market value. Of course, then you also risk getting a lemon. But if you stick to sellers with 99+% ratings & long (more than 5 year) histories of selling Rolex watches/parts with lots of good, clear photos, you should be fine. You are certainly welcome to post the pics here if you want 2nd opinions. However, when buying Rolex, you should be prepared to pay the going price. Trading a 10% savings for peace of mind is not a very good exchange rate in my opinion. Also, once you have assembled a gen case & movement, only a gen dial (crown & handset) will do. So be prepared for ongoing sticker shock. Good luck & happy hunting!
  15. With fingers crossed...............

  18. Looks good to me, too. But, unless buying from a long-time reputable Rolex seller, who offers full refund if unsatisfied, I would never buy a Rolex without good, clear macros of the dial, rear case, crown & movement.
  19. The answer is 2-fold, but relatively simple - go to your local authorized Rolex dealer (AD) & familiarize yourself with the genuine (gen) Sub you are interested in. Try it on, work the functions, view it in the light on your wrist. Once you have isolated the specific Sub model you want, search the gen sites for pics & stats on the gen. Then, peruse the rep sellers' listings to locate the rep that contains the least amount of inaccuracies (all reps have inaccuracies) that bother YOU.
  20. Interesting, but I would have 'modded' the subdials as well. The bright white text in the subdials look suspicious against the yellow 'white' of the dial.
  21. Alot of nice metal on display, gents. Wearing my beater today
  22. google local watchmakers & call 1st to see if they work on reps.
