  1. A local watchmaker is your best bet for small numbers of hands. That said, you might want to get a couple extras of whichever hands you need just in case.......
  2. Sounds like a browser or personal firewall issue. Try accessing from another computer &/or disable your firewall and try another web browser (eg, Firefox).
  3. Were it me, I would contact the seller & ask his recommendation. Although the problem is likely simple, fixing it could be more complicated. Once you start dabbling or replacing stuff, you are effectively on your own.
  4. It has been a few years since I have researched the best Rolex reps, but Josh & Andrew used to have them. Check the dealer listings. Most likely, if neither stocks what you want, they can source it for you.
  5. Originally, the 16xx Datejust ran about $250 +/-, depending on choice of metals. For its value in today's dollars, see your local Rolex retailer.
  6. In spite of the current fashion, I find that anything larger than 38mm looks silly on my 7" wrists.
  7. I mostly concur (as usual) with tomhorn, except that I think MQ has the best Newman dials. Probably, the most expensive, but, once you rise to the V72 level, you should demand only the best available. (coronets are gens)
  8. It is a non-Oyster & is correct for both 6239 or 6241. It all depends on which bezel you fit to the case.
  9. Diesel - If the xtal fits (& looks correct on) your case, I would not worry about it being 1mm plus or minus spec. No one (other than an RSC, which will easily ID most frankens & all reps upon presentation) is going to mic your xtal to call you out that.
  10. RWG is full of Daytona build threads. Use the search. You need to decide how serious of a build you want (ie., how much you can afford to spend & how much hair you are willing to pull out during the process). This is a sample of some recent builds (all V72-powered diy frankens - use the search to locate build threads containing details)
  11. The originals came with domed xtals. However, the watch went in for service in the past 20 or so years, it came out with a beveled service xtal. Point being that either is correct & which you use depends on your preference & bank account.
  12. Only the V72 (expensive frankens) or 77xx (less expensive, but these have a symmetrical pusher arrangement) powered.
  13. I have an old DW gold Newman 7750 (with auto-wind module removed) that has been sitting in a parts cup on a shelf for the past 2 years that I might be willing to sell. Although it was running before I sold the case, it should be overhauled as I cannot guarantee anything. It would come with what you see in the pic. PM if interested.
