  1. LOL!
  2. Killer sub USMC!
  3. The Yuki dial will fit josh's 5512/5513 case, as will a gen dial. The only real issue with Josh's case as mentioned, are the small cg's. The Josh case has gen like bezel construction and will take a gen crystal. Open the lugholes, add a gen crown/tube, crystal and insert... and you have a great base. Personally the cost of a gen, Phong or Yuki case.. offsets that issue for me.
  4. Congrats on your fine build Chefcook! I'm happy you are finally finished! Your extra hard work on the details was worth it! Really a stunning Seamaster you built!
  5. M, Breathtaking, inspiring, awesome etc...there are not enough adjectives for this one! Your wait and research paid off in a huge way. That is a fine timepiece! Congrats on getting it done!
  6. My vintage 6541 is, and I kinda wish it wasn't. The case is really thick!
  7. Both of these items can be found almost daily on The Vintage Rolex forum market area. I have purchased several gen crystals and inserts there. If your watch will take a gen insert without modification, either a 1680 or 5512/5513 insert will work.
  8. How did I miss this????
  9. Sorry you lost your watch. Cool story bro
  10. For those members that delete the price and replace it with Sold, what are your reasons? It seems obvious why you shouldn't do it....as there are so many reasons it needs to be there after the sale. But why do they do it? I really want to know.
  11. For anyone that enjoys ID'ing watches in movies like I do... I found this site interesting http://www.watch-id.com/
  12. Ahh...I didn't know you had two. Well...carry on then! Let me know if we ever solve the crystal replacement deal. For me it's not the fact that it has the etching... It's just too big and obvious not gen
  13. You decided to sell?
  14. Awesome Chi! Let us know when you can! That sub case would look good on me.
  15. I'd like to know about crystals for this watch too Mine already has the gen crown/tube, gen insert, and bk datewheel, but I hate that tiny etching.
  16. This! Bezel construction genlike?
  17. Do NOT sell vintage McIntosh gear for reps! Save up some cash on the side and just take your time. While you are saving cash and building a fund for that, you can use the time to research and study what you want to build..do it right the first time. You can always get rep watches, but vintage McIntosh gear is hard to come by and might be impossible to afford in the future...... you will regret it! Cute wife btw...where in Texas are you?
  18. I had a similar problem, and I discovered the caseback was too tight on one of my cheaper subs. I just backed off a tiny bit from where I would normally tighten it to..and all was good.
  19. Nice find Ray!
  20. Your killing me with that O&W!
  21. speedy today
  22. I would just check the Vintage Rolex Forum and I would check daily. I've found many gen parts deals there.
