  1. Yeah and at these prices who cares if it can't survive being thrown off a building or run over by a Land Rover? Wait a sec......... I'm having a thought.
  2. Hey for under $8 - with free shipping - how can you go wrong?! http://www.ebay.com/itm/292055181480
  3. Exactly. 36/37mm speak for themselves, but never shout.
  4. Paul was the MAN. In fact there are rumors his ghost is still here as CrazySaleMan. River is still around on HF selling tasty Panerai pieces. I message him once in awhile but he doesn't remember me. Maybe he and EL shared a stash?
  5. That one's a 1964. I've got to say she's aging better than I am!
  6. Look at that list! Robertk, jjajh, luckyyy, dave123, ubi, neo, highflyingClive... what a pantheon.
  7. Giving the old timer some exercise today [emoji173]️

  9. Gorgeous piece!!! I'm first in line when that puppy goes up for sale. Here's a birthday watch for me.
  10. If you mean "old RWG site" as in 10 years ago, that's us. Welcome home! If you mean "old RWG site" as in a month ago (RWG.bz) they're having server issues. Stick around, we're the real "old RWG site" after all.
  11. I've always pried open my center links to size these things. I've wound up on two occasions with center links that were mildly deformed but they actually looked better than pristine center links. Think about it... old rivet bands are made from thin tinny metal and dents should be expected from daily use. The deformed (re-bent) center links come out looking, believe it or not, authentic. Go for it. You may be pleasantly surprised.
  12. We've talked about this quite a lot... bunches of good advice here. https://rwg.cc/topic/177014-movement-dial-holes/ https://rwg.cc/topic/176345-6538-build-progress-movement-discussion/ https://rwg.cc/topic/183632-possibilities-for-replacing-cal-1030-in-a-phong-6538-build-with-contemporary-movement/ http://www.homageforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=1419 Good luck!
  13. Ooooooo that's tasty. Nicely done. Here's how far I've descended on the path to Panerai Hell. Must resist...
  14. Pretty simple really, dude had it for sale, I sent him cash, it's on the wrist. But it did arrive broken, so I sent it off to Misiekped and he did his usual magic on it. Now it's running well. Thanks Mike!
  15. Remember I'm a total noob at the Panerai world folks... so hjere I am dipping my toe in the Welded Lugs pool.
  16. Send it to me, I'll "tolerate" it for you [emoji12] Dipping my toe in the Panerai "welded lug" pool.
  17. Roger that. We've had some world class watchsmiths here over the years, one in particular, that decided to stop working on reps and frankens because their gen business was such that they couldn't be associated with the hobby. One of the Forum Rules is to NEVER use anyone's real name. The rule is there for a reason.
  18. OK that makes sense, I can correlate much of this with Rolex builds. Recall I have a 6497 in there now, is there a chance those hands will work on the Moly 3602? Or can they be broached or staked to work? I'm assuming dial dots are what everyone uses to stick dials to these movements? I saw a writeup where someone turned 6497 stems into Moly stems with careful measuring and a flat file. You know, what we really need here at good old RWG is a step by step Pam build (hint hint hint). Just imagine.... "I really wanted a 2533 so I decided to build one. Here's my thinking, the choices I had to make, photos of the parts, photos of the assembly, problems I overcame, lessons learned, and the glorious result." Someone that did the very first Pam tutorial build at RWG would be... dare I say it... infamous. (hint hint hint)
