  1. Hej Hej, Good watch the IWC. Enjoy my cousin.. that came out wrong. You are my cousin, but my cousin, Birgit is the proverbial Swedish Bombshell. She is the daughter of my Grandfathers sister. Was never quite certain about the ettiquette in this situation, so I said when in doubt, back out. Vi Sis
  2. Being born in 1200, would be my pick. At age 15, I could witness the Magna Carta being signed, while wearing my sundial wrist watch. At age 16, Inventing the mechanical wristwatch. would advance horology hundreds of years by the time this year rolled around. No doubt there would be a massive Hambone watch factory.
  3. Just noticed this topic. Next to watches, shoes are my other weakness followed by clothes. I have so far 42 pairs of shoes, from John Varvatos, Donald Pliner, Magnanni, Mezlan, Testoni, Gucci, Ferragamo, and more. I will post some pics later. No time now.
  4. Correct, the Beijing Silk Markets are one of the best places. When I was in Beijing, there was another huge market place that my host took me to. We walked down the street and came upon an ordinary door, when opened reaveled a large and fantastic market. I saw a number of watch carts there, but I can. recall the name of the place. Be sure to drive out to Badaling and walk upon the Great Wall. It was December during my trip and the 3 of us were the only souls on the wall. It is rather incredible.
  5. Good review. The Calibre is a gorgeous watch. No doubt you get comments on it. Cartier is the one watch that has always been close to owning, I was hoping the jumbo Santos stainless would be made. The Calbre is a good pick.

    My Dad

Holy smokes you guys... I am overwhelmed by your kind words of wisdom and understanding. I have not seen this post of mine for a few days and I am not ashamed to say that tears are flowing like a fountain. I am flying to Denver today, Dad had a 7 hour operation yesterday to drain the huge cysts on his pancreas.5 Doctors have phoned me to advise me of Dad's status. He is getting the very best care, however being 80 years old, his chances of surviving this are slim. I am so very heartbroken that it is up to me to make life or death decisions on my Father. Somehow it does not seem fair, but I must honor what he has told me years ago about being in this situation, and that is he does not want to suffer and die peacefully. So, I , having POA gave the Docs the do not recusitate order. I feel it would be selfish of me to do otherwise. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all for your words of support. You guys have helped me more than I can express. Aloha, Eric
  9. Tokyo panties! This is great. I have been to Japan 18 times, and took part in the loincloth wearing ceremony where the men carry an icon church chest with four long carrying posts through the streets, singing and chanting. All along the way everyone is drinking massive amounts of Sake, The street march ends at a public hall with huge long tables and a feast of the best sushi in the world. Truly one of the best experiences of my life.
  10. The Swiss Mvmt is the one to get. The Asian 7750 mvmt. have , for me, been unreliaable in the long term. They jjust stop ticking. Not all, but if you want the watch to last for many years, go Swiss.
  11. I want some fish & chips right now. Dammit, is no one listening??
  12. Thanks TeeJay for your view on the Millgauss. When I drive to work on the Las Vegas strip, there is a Jeweler who has a giant billboard of the Millgauss. It is not as fetching as the GMT, but still a great looking time piece. No doubt it will be in the collection shortly. Is there a watchaholics anonymous?
  13. Thank you kindly guy's for the compliments. I am really blown away by the quality of this rep. It really is a pleasure to own and wear.
  14. I was aware of the John Paul Jones connection going on to be Led Zep's founding members, and the LZ was the most awesome rock band ever, My dear friend Steven's Uncle was Mickie Most who co managed LZ .He was also the manager for the Animals. A great bit of rock history is that in 1962 while Mickie was at the wheel driving with Mick Jagger back from a gig late at night, Jagger asked Mickie if he thought the Stones would hit the big time. At that moment a truck was coming from the other way and the headlights illuminated Jaggers spotty, pimply face. Mickie said "Not a chance" Many years later Jagger reminded Mickie of this anecdote, and they had a good laugh. Hermans Hermits were a bit different, and I meant no disrespect.
  15. Welcome Dopey! Here in Las Vegas I talk to UK people every day, and they are all class acts, a pleasure to meet. You Brits are something else. Hey you gave us the Stones and the Beatles. We wont mention Herman's Hermit's, but no one is perfect. Have a blast!
