  1. Sounds good to me ! Houston is a great city by the way ! Spent two months there at GE Hydrill a few summers ago. Had an awesome time ! When can I send it ? Lol and do you want the movement out of the case ? Shoot me a pm
  2. Hey fellas I have one of my Marlin 127 that was hit pretty hard when I shipped it back from my home in fla. It was hit hit so hard that one of the bridge screws snapped, the minute hand and second hand came off and the swan neck regulator came off. I can handle everything but the swanneck reassembly and regulation. Anyone know of anybody in North America that can turn this around fairly quickly ? Cheers clet
  3. Love this ! Think I may put my yachmaster on a strap ! This is freaking beautiful !
  4. It is based on a 7750. IWC get them and finish them and rework some of the components. But basically it's a 7750. $2k is a lot ! They are usually around a grand currently.
  5. That's incredibly beautiful ! Alaska just got moved up on my places to see list. I do miss the mountains living here in southern Ontario.
  6. Wow ! Reminds me of when I was living in norway. 3am looked like sunset, it was beautiful !
  7. Looks great ! Glad you like the outcome Love that crystal !! Looks like it's not there. Did you have it AR'd or is it the angle ?
  8. If this is a WSO bezel then they changed the supplier because the new ones look nothing like this ? Nice watch !
  9. It came from Hanoi, from a fella I have not heard of before. Its better than the HR case, I'll snap photos of it when I get a chance.
  10. Yea I'll give them a shot. Not worried about the polishing as I'm going to age it a little, but This WSO bezel is horrendous ! None of the notches have he same depth and they are polished and very smooth. An worst of all, it doesn't fit at all lol See this looks great !! Much closer to gen than the crap I got lol. Beautiful watch by the way ! Yea that's most likely my next step. Also have to press out my strap bars to have the case engraved. The case is perfect but sterile.
  11. Hey guys, has anyone had quality issues with WSO bezel assemblys for 5513 rolies ? I used to buy from them a bit and the quality was decent, but this bezel I just recieved is utter garbage ! And doesn't fit a gen case at all, the friction disk doesn't fit or stay in lol it's just garbage. Anyone know of if any other aftermarket bezel makers that are of good quality ? This is for a 5517 build and I don't want some cheap looking bezel. Cheers! C.
  12. The gen bars were knurled and pressed then ground flat and polished. No brazing as far as I know.
  13. All gen minus bracelet and midcase ?
  14. what is this weekend car ? it sounds fun !! but that aside, I couldn't agree with you more... my phone tells perfect time, but I feel naked without a mechanical watch on my wrist, I cannot do quartz, not even here at work where things get beat to pieces, I still wear and automatic.
  15. The novodiac shock is a dead give away lol
  16. Finally got around to assembling this beauty ! Only thing missing is the caseback. Still on the hunt and couldn't wait ? Rolie dial and hands ! Amazing ! 6513 Panerai case from I have no idea, but is good enough for now. Gen ETA 6497 movement with decorated bridges.
  17. I have not worn this since I've been home for the past 5 weeks lol had a winding stem snap when I was home last hitch off and never looked at it until today, I guess that's how it's going to be as a new father lol oh boy ?
  18. Does this strap feel better than the rep ? I hate the reps feel lol
  19. I have even done it on the V7 insert and it also brings that closer to the vibrance of the silver tone of the gen inserts. It may may be a cheap fix but it's better than the other solutions out there.
  20. Damn fun cars ! Like a go kart ! I always wanted to get one and do something stupid with it like Hennessy did with the venom GT ?
  21. Hey, yea I just noticed that when you mentioned it. It's not as pronounced when looking directly at it, but at a slight angle I guess the parallax exaggerates the misalignment, however I'll have to take it apart and re align it lol I'm super anal! I must have done this when I swapped out the hour wheel yesterday and quickly reassembled it. ? Also need to figure out a way to tone down the gloss given by the fresh lacquer on the dial. Apparently it will soften in its shiny ness in time like the original. But I'd like to push it along if I can ?
  22. Couldn't agree with you more ! my problem is really lack of time as i spend almost 7 months of the year offshore and while that was fine when i was single as i had lots of time, but then my fiancee came along, so that was the majority of my time and then a dog lol and now in the past month my first Son.. I have told myself many times in the past new months to sit down and clear out your parts bin of hoarded stuff and get rid of the watches you don't wear or wont wear. I Counted them for shits and giggles this morning. I have 3 im building and 58 watches in my two watch drawers in my closet lol of which 8 are high cost frankens, 12 Gens and the rest are various watches i seen and liked over the years.. some modded, some i have no idea when or where i bought them. Of all of those i probably have worn 25 of them. Its a bit silly lol Maybe ill clear out some this week before i head back to work and buy just one or put the money in an account for my son or something like that. Oh and Sogeha I agree fully with you, i'm not into this for the investment or worrying about funds to build etc.. i just love this racket lol something about it just grabs you and you. Its only in the past 4 or 5 years i've even had the means of digging into some of the watches i've built and Gens i've bought. Before that I just wore a scrappy few and bought and sold to buy another etc.. but thats where the love of this came from, back in the day when i couldn't afford much at all.
