  1. I'm going for it. And I would also be picking up a more correct non-doppel caseback when available.
  2. Large 42mm diameter bliss. Chronometre spec timekeeping... Circa mid-1920s according to Omega @Bienne. Def. one of my all-time favorites.
  3. Hey that "OK" 5513 is my 5513 and I think it's cool!!!
  4. I've had some movements/dials 'move' in time due to the items not being glued or tacked together somehow. It is rare and certainly case-specific. I try to get a nice clean fit, but often I find that a tiny bit of 3M 2-sided tape works wonders and lasts for eons w/o causing drying out problems. Anyhow, I change the gaskets on most of my watches very year or so. And every 6 months on watches that I trust my life with whilst diving. Hey, I know I'm a bit of a watchaholic, but this is how I do it I'm also glad to know that I'm not alone here in my madness
  5. No doubt about it, my car(s) makes the watch
  6. Nice! One of my faves (with Makers Mark, sweet vermouth and a dash of angostura bitters).
  7. I've used them sometimes. Along with glue or nothing at all. It all depends upon the application.
  8. Nice topic! For me it depends upon the weather/mood I'm in. In general, I really enjoy a fine tequila side by side with a fresh glass of sangrita. Or a fine Whiskey with soda water... When things are hot, I sip on an ice-cold Michelada, which is kind of a Mexican variation of the Bloody Mary. salt the rim of a 20oz glass with course salt fill glass with ice and juice from 2 key limes 2 dashes of Maggi Seasoning 2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce 2 dashes of Tabasco dash of pepper fill half the glass with Clamato juice fill the rest with beer (pour slowly, the salt makes the beer foam) Note, this is how I make it - and this is the best way to make one. There are many variations. You can use Tomato juice or V8 instead of Clamato (but you're cheating yourself of the slight briny salty flavor that is ohh so important in a Michelada). Instead of Maggi seasoning, you can add 1 dash of Soy Sauce. Instead of Tabasco, you can use whatever Salsita you want. You can also add a shot of Tequila to the recipe, but use a Tequila Blanco and not a gold-colored tequila so as to not overpower the delicate flavors.
  9. A lovely lovely watch - perhaps a perfect rep with Superluminova and Swiss 7750 mov't & datewheels.
  10. The Vegas shop is somewhat interesting... I like the little sections that they have, such as the IWC area. I've never really been bothered by the idiot staff. In other words, I usually get around to seeing everything that I want without some banal or idiotic conversation with a sales person. It's a must stop for me each time I go to Vegas - for no reason really aside from seeing what's up in the watch world. Besides, here in L.A., there are vastly superior shops (anybody been to Westime?).
  11. Bumpin' Bumped Bumpy BUMP!!!!!!!!
  12. I don't, but I can tell you that the watch fits great on my 6.8" wrist. Cheers
  13. I am most pleased that this thread has seemingly spawned quite a large interest in this fine watch. BUMP!!!!!!!
  14. Welcome! Nice first choice. Here's mine... I changed the crystal to an acrylic dome, sanded off the silly serial # on the side if the case, and I also slapped it on a genuine black alligator strap.
  15. Breitling for Bentley is the most ridiculous watch. Utter garbage & a total aesthetic nightmare.
  16. Santee Alley is located in the garment district. It makes sense for a place like this to be what it is. Low income folks from neighboring Boyle Heights & Huntington Park, etc.. shop there for a reason - they cannot afford to go to South Coast Plaza.
