  1. Ludo, there really is not much else to be done for your 6265. I think it looks great. Here's what I can suggest for extreme crazy-WIS mania. These mods are the little details that make a great rep an ultimate super rep: - Smooth the sharp edges on the lugs a little bit. Maybe you did this already though. - Replace the dial with the newer version with the Rolex crown slightly lowered into the correct position. I am going to do this mod this week. - Slightly age the color of the lume if you want. My genuine 1675 has aged yellow Tritium, my 5513 does not. Both are from 1967 and have original dials and hands. So, not all have aged Tritium, but most seem to. Your choice. I'm going to try doing this. - Eventually replace the bracelet with a genuine one. Best regards
  2. The only vintage reps I have are my two 6263/5 Daytonas. And maybe my PAM 009, but I don't have it yet. I have lots of genuine vintage watches though.
  3. I wonder if it would fit my old EL 001 that has a Lello crown. I sanded the CG pin a tiny bit to fit the Lello crown.
  4. Run 5 for me - this time for sure. I've got a VC Overseas & an Ingy coming in a few days.
  5. Gorgeous piece. I can't wait to get mine from BigNasty.
  6. Despite it being a fantasy, it is very nice watch. I'd buy one for $75. Cheers
  7. Wow, what a joke! But I guess nothing surprises me here in L.A.
  8. Nice! I especially like the double EVO action. I also really like those stands. Thanks for sharing your pics. Cheers
  9. Great collection... My favorite has always been your genuine Monaco
  10. Dang, that is one killer lookin' watch! Turned out great!
  11. Both watches are very nice, but OEM is platinum and white gold. I don't think that all of those complications work in the rep, but I could be wrong. There is a new IWC rep with a crazy amount of complications that work.
  12. RT, I have the same methods (of madenss). Call it 1 part OCD and 1 part Rabid WIS Fever I even find myself turning in my wrist when walking around corners in the morning when I'm not even wearing a watch yet. I do believe though that some minor clasp scuffs are part of the territory when it comes to vintage bracelets. I do polish them from time to time, to get 'em back to new again. ***A word of caution in regards to the satin brushing pen: Wear gloves and eye protection and clean up your workspace upon completion. The little clear bristles break into essentially invisible little chards. They are made out of fiberglass and can embed deep into your fingers.
  13. To each, his own. Life is too short not to enjoy. And diversity makes for a stronger gene pool for us all-too-feeble self-destructive & wholly predictable humans. Aren't we all on our way out, anyway? It seems to me that every time I check the time on my watch, I have less time on this earth. Cheers
  14. I think that I'n getting weak in the knees again. I might break down and order an Overseas I've gone on a spending spree these past 2 weeks. Arrrgh!!!
  15. Both the Breguet and the Patek above are very nice watches. And they have a nice movement. Personally, I am on an Aquanaut kick right now. Perhaps it's too much like the Nautilus for your tastes though. Cheers
  16. Perhaps the tooling would be extraordinarily expensive to make a V72 copy. And since it would only be used in a Daytona rep, it would not be something useful for other applications. Do you think that they'd make a rep Pre-Tag Tri-Compax Heuer Autavia with a copy V72? I don't think so. I believe that there is more profit in just making el cheapo case kits for next to nothing. BTW, I have drempt of a copy V72 for a long time. It's not going to happen
  17. Great point Ubi. This is something that you & I have talked about a few days ago. Diversification is indeed a good thing. I find it quite amusing yet logical that we share a penchant for some of Genta's designs. And this goes for Doc as well. BTW, I am happy that you 'went for it'! I can't wait to get mine Cheers, gentlemen. PS. It does not surprise me in the least that Doc would fancy the Nautilus
  18. Ciao Halley! It's great to see you! Those DW days were a long time ago now. Nice to see the pics... Thank you for posting. A true historical piece for all of us. Best regards, Euno PS. Here's my 1st
  19. Well, sorry for raising the dead via good ol' necroposting... Flav or anybody who might have one: Wanna sell me a black Vacheron Constantin Overseas? I'm going crazy.
  20. I'm surprised to find myself wearing this one for a little while. I am sure that it won't last... The Aquanaut is calling my name.
  21. Lovely artwork! In Japan, it is more common to have 3/4 sleeves (if you even have tatoos). And without a doubt, a man's watch is akin to a man's prowess/virility We take things very seriously, if u catch my drift. Personally, I like full sleeves. But I would only go 3/4 due to my watch-love. Hey, this is just my opinion. Who cares what I think. You have to do what you want to do. Cheers PS. Going to Ito in the summer at the beach is a real treat. There are lots of young roosters showing their favorite Buddhist Sutras manifested upon their backs - full-size Buddhas. Never in color either, always black ink. And as always - done by the best of the best masters in the world. You can tell, too, from a kilometer away... My bro:
  22. I would really like to see the new 44mm Nautis in person. I also heard that Patek discontinued the Aquanaut Jumbo (the 40mm version). I wonder if there's going to be a 44m Aquanaut. I hope that Patek does not follow in the contemporary big watch trend; although, a 40mm Calatrava would be nice
