Yes, this is the way to go. But: you will not find a Valjoux 72 for $250. The average price is $800-$1200 for a Valjoux 72. Factor in all the costs before you take the plunge. Or, buy the parts slowly over a few months. That way you won't feel like you're spending so much money on what ends up being a very small-sized little tiny watch. Cheers

Its funny Kenberg... I just reached for my tube of Crazy Glue (the new kind in the stand up bottle with the mini-applicator brush) and I found something to not be quite right. I've only used this bottle a few times but today I noticed that, despite the top being nice and tight, the bottle has bloated and cracked significantly. So much so that the damn glue is not useable. I know this is off-topic, but I thought it was kinda funny since we are all chiming in on glue in this thread.

Slightly off topic here but: It is very frustrating to get every single speck of dust off of the inside of a crystal and off of the dial. I've gone literally insane doing this over an over and over. It is the price you must pay for pure perfection.

Despite all the banter, I use GS Glue with great success on OEM bezels and inserts. I suspect that inserts that pop out while hammering are not shaped exactley like the bezel (been bent outta original shape). Personally, I would not hammer with any of my genuine vintage watches though. If the insert is fitting and holding only because of tension due to having a significantly different shape than the bezel, then well, it's bound to pop out ain't it! Well, these are my observations with OEM Roex belzels and inserts. I like GS Crystal glue since the hold is not too strong so as to be permanent. If you use epoxy, well, that's going to last a long long time. I like to be able to change between Pespi and black inserts on my 1675 a couple of times a year - hence using GS Crystal glue is great for me. ***Mind you, my opinion(s) in this post are solely based upon my own experience(s) with genuine items. Your experiences could perhpas be qute different than mine. Cheers

Wow, looks like The Watchboys strap is not really black compared to the OEM strap. Very noticeable difference. On another note, I would like to know if Agus's IWC Deployment is 18mm (which is like genuine).

I will take a wrist shot when it's daytime over here. This will show how large the watch actually wears. The movement is a nickel-plated (Elaboree-Grade) ETA 2824-2 Here are some more pics... You can somewhat see the different textures on the case. Nice brushed finishes contrasted with the shiny finishes on the lovely edges/top of the case, crown guards and bezel. Like I said, the interplay of the different edges and finishes makes for a unique larger-looking asthetic.

Well, here it is: One of the strangest yet bizarrely stunning watches ever produced - and a Patek Philippe no less! I have been looking at the uncommon Aquanaut ever since I saw one at the Tourneau at The Forum (Las Vegas) quite a few years ago. Everytime I'd be in Vegas, I'd go and glance at the various Aquanauts. Sometimes there were a couple of them. Sometimes there were only a few ladies Aquanauts. Last time I was there, there were none. This all suggests that they actually do sell from time to time. Funny, since it is such an oddball watch. So, why didn't I order a rep a long time ago? I could not do it since I saw too many flaws on the dial of various reps. Yeah, the hands bothered me that much that I waited literally years until I was able to pull the trigger on the infamous MBW Aquanaut! ***I want to give my thanks to Paso, the seller of this MBW. Paso is an honest seller who shipped very fast. Throughout our deal, Paso exhibited excellent communication as well. Anyhow, I was unsure if the smallish size would look less than stellar whilst on my wrist. Boy, was I wrong. The Aquanaut 'wears very big'. I have no idea why, but it fits me the same as a 40mm watch. It has the same thickness and width as my Rolex 1675. It could be due to how the crown sticks out on the Patek. It also could have to do with the lovely interplay between brushed and shiny surfaces. The case sides and the bezel top + sides have different finishes - this makes the watch look way larger. Overall, it is a very nice watch. And certainly of MBW quality. Ok, now some pics:

Sorry for the necroposting, but... I've never been a fan of the Spitfire. But lately, i have found myself flirting with Spitfire pics. In fact, it seems that I am starting to fall in love with the Spitfire. Funny, as I had always thought that the Spitfire dial was an unKosher version of the MK XV dial. Alas, I have become more progressive in my conservaive thinking and the Spitfire is on my short-list now. Especially with the bracelet. Cheers
