I think these may work on the gilt look if we can work them, meaning spray them with a thin shiny coat of clear, then relume the markers flat. To get that ceramic look on the dial face

You can always get one of the gen ones I'm selling . IMO they are both the same. All jokes aside, One clasp has better fit but lacks in the print dept as you may already know. V3 but I forget exactly which clasp code had the better springbars.

Get the 2846 and find a swatch movement with the two step keyless. Swap the parts and have a movement that works flawlessly and acts like gen. This is what I did for both my 5512 McQueen and the 1016 I currently working on.

Gen date disc is the only option if you wan the correct serifs. I have tried the WSO and the ST units and the yuki stock unit has better print(if you're lucky to get the semi correct one).

I'm finishing some homework at the library now, will chime in more detail later. If you're patient enough you can wait for an ST3035 case to show up on the sales threads. You can start with the ST3135 to get the "package" built and wearable. Then you can modify the st3035 case to accept the 3136 movement. Gen parts all fit the ST cases. The case still need a little massaging to make them better than great. E

Love both watches. If it were me I'll keep both. Yes the 16610 is more common, but also makes for a practical daily tool watch. The 1665 is just on a class of its own.

SSD is still one of the cult classics when building a franken. The BP case is definitely better suited for a newer 16600 build however. Can't wait for a V3 or a 1:1 SD case set.
