  1. HERE is the rep vs. gen Rolex steel compared. That 904 steel is one of the silliest marketing ploys ever... I'm amazed that people fall for it and think the 904 steel is something extraordinary that clearly makes the gen stand out... There is a small difference in appearance but in my eyes it's so minimal that it's completely meaningless.
  2. That's a GREAT choice! One of my favorite chronographs. Remember to post pics when it arrives!!
  3. Hi Anguz, I'll hazard a guess that 80-90% of the non-chronograph reps with screw down crowns (that our dealers sell) are "waterproof" and you can swim with them. But because they are reps there can be leaky crystals, loose casebacks, etc. There's one good rule: Don't take your watches to water. Gens or reps. There are many horror stories in the gen forums how water has ruined manyy very expensive genuine diver watches. Just don't do it... or at least check your watch in a watchmaker before you swim with it. Good luck.
  4. It's not a maxi dial. Looks good to me. That's a nice TT Sub, go for it! Is the gold same quality as the one I reviewed here? I don't know... you gotta ask Eurotimez.
  5. I have no problem helping you but the link you posted is dead... I can't see any pictures of the watch. You can save those pictures from the Flash sites this way: Press PRNT-SCRN button on your keyboard and paste the screen to a paint program (Photoshop of Windows Paint). Post the image to Tinypic.com and share it here.
  6. Shipping that many watches at once is literally begging for trouble. I don't know why the dealers even attempt it... the risks are so high. Good luck anyway. I'm afraid you're going to need it.
  7. WM9 is in the class of its own. Congrats! I wouldn't consider the gen bracelet as the new one costs around $700. Just oil the WM9 bracelet and maybe smoothen the edges with a sandpaper... it won't be exactly like the gen bracelet but quite respectable anyway. Enjoy!
  8. I'm wearing the one on the right.
  9. Whenever it was originally from, this must have been an exceptional franken back in its day. But indistinguishable from the gen? Absolutely not... the "tells" are clear. WM9 is the only Rolex rep manufacturer that has ever nailed it. Here's v1 next to my gen GMT. It had other flaws but it was the first rep that had an amazing rehaut. The new version of Noob Explorer is superb as well. All other Rolex reps... no cigar. They simply look fundamentally wrong... including that TZ watch.
  10. @alligoat: I'm not talking about the rehaut depth, but the crystal/rehaut shape. The same thing that instantly gives SSD away. But it's other way around on that rep... Dweller has very thick rehaut from the front... the rep doesn't. This actually looks like the old TW Best Sub from the front. There's an extra "pleat"... it's nothing like the gen smooth shape. The watch probably has gen parts... the dial looks good (if you can determine that from the awful photo). The cg's seem to be "curved down" too much as well.
  11. You know what vintage model would sell like no other... GMT 1675. We have seen the Dwellers, Subs and Daytonas... but there has never been a decent 1675.
  12. Nice. Even the pearl looks ok compared to the awful default MBW one. Looks like they have finally gotten the message. Vintage Rolex reps sell. Red Sea Dweller is just so "over the edge" though... maybe they'll rep the white versions later. PS: The coronet on the clasp is terrible though.
  13. Sorry to hear that Ubi. But I hope the Daytona brothers are still in.
  14. I disagree. The watch doesn't look gen at all. You can see it immediately from the crystal/rehaut shape, lugs and crown guards. WM9 Sub is the only rep that has nailed the rehaut profile. It's a nice rep though... this rep could have "TW best roots" as those have been in production for a LONG time.
  15. Yes, it's definitely the nicest of modern Rolex (if you only count the very latest upgrades). YMII is a joke, the new TT Sub is a serious downgrade (the blue dial isn't even half as beautiful as the old one), DDII was disappointing... and the DeepSea is simply awful. I don't like the fat lug models at all. Wonder how they're going to ruin Explorer II and Daytona... time will tell...
  16. Ubi, you should post your full collection shot one of these days. You have so many amazing frankens. Ceramic GMT II is a nice rep. Not too crazy about the watch itself, but I briefly owned it too.
  17. Awesome shot of the two Explorers Lani! The Pepsi for me today.
  18. Nice "whiteys"... IWC and UN. Wearing my good old SMP Chrono.
  19. Whatever watch forum I go to... at least half of the people spell it "Milguass". Even people in the Rolex forums. Asian7750 spells it "Milguass". LINK Joshua spells it "Milgrauss". LINK. Hont has even more variation. First he spells it Milguass and later Milgrauss. I just went to a gen watch reseller... he spelt it "Milguass". Thus... the idea of my post. Damn that's a difficult word.
  20. This might come as a surprise but Milgauss has to be spelled and written "Milgauss". Not "Milguass". Really.
  21. Welcome Iron Mike. Enjoy the ride... You'll get along just fine here... as long as you don't bite anyone's ear off...
  22. I like many Breitlings... but one is above them all. Hopefully I own one again soon.
  23. This for Friday... perfect winter watch.
  24. I love that white Dweller Lani. I'm wearing my pretty blue.
