  1. I agree fully, just thought I'd throw it in the mix.
  2. http://www.twgtwg.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_6&products_id=7664 No Daytona print, but different pushers.
  3. Comes to site, first post is bait and second is the hook. Looks pretty suspicious to me
  4. Honestly take the "swiss movement" thing with a grain of salt. If there is the same available with an asian clone movement for a lower price I'd suggest it. Chances are the swiss will be asian anyway and there is not much point paying more for the same (on in some situations a worse) thing. In my opinion given the prices for some other FM reps I think the price for this one looks absolutely ludicrous, but it's your money.
  5. The amount of wow in this thread
  6. I'm a young guy at university and use a fountain pen daily. It makes for easier writing and ends up being cheaper than buying heaps of cheap disposable pens. Though I will say I don't see many around.
  7. I'm unsure as to whether or not he uses any rolex as a knuckle duster in the films but in On Her Majesty's Secret Service there is" "He softly retrieved his gloves from the bathroom, put on the goggles so that they rested in his hair above the forehead, tied the dark-red handkerchief tightly across his nose, schnapps into hip pocket and, finally, Gillette through the fingers on the lest hand and the Rolex transferred to his right, the bracelet clasped in the palm of his hand the round the fingers so that the face of the watch lay across his middle knuckles."
  8. The knuckle dusting is from the books though and then we open a whole new kettle of fish with which watch it's referring to. To my knowledge the books just refer to a rolex oyster, my best guess being that it would be a 1016 as that was Ian Fleming's personal watch.
  9. Definitely interested in this as well. I have a cartel 1675 on the way to me and definitely want to swap out the insert for a gen when I get it.
  10. I'm not a massive fan of quartz watches mainly because to me they will always be compared to their mechanical brothers. It's fun to tinker with mechanicals (sometimes to their detriment) while I can't do that with quartz. The quartz watch that I do have is a gshock, not because it's anything astounding but jesus christ it can take an absolute beating. But different strokes for different folks, if you like quartz, wear them in good health.
  11. There was a smurf that just sold a couple of days ago on RG. I just looked it up to see if it was still for sale but unfortunately sold. http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=252557&highlight=australia
  12. Though the larger dealers can provide benefits such as PayPal / credit card payment as opposed to wire transfer.
  13. Haha, the bug has bitten you already. Don't worry, you'll then get into building the things and it's just down hill (or up hill) from there. Stick around, it's a great bunch of people who have a crazy amount of knowledge of watches
  14. Hi mate, As much as I have hated having this said to me it's true, Welcome to the Rep Game. The websites are not maintained and once a watch gets put up it rarely will get taken down. It's often annoying and can sometimes pay to email the dealer before you place an order. From memory the Ploprof has been out of production for a while so I don't think there's any deliberate move from the dealer. Good luck with the seamaster
  15. Hi All, I'm just looking to see who from experience knows of TDs who accept PayPal as a method of payment Thanks HaydenM
  16. Don't cancel the payment, if you do you're pretty much out of the rep game. It's a ridiculous thing to do that negatively impacts the rest of us here. Talk to a moderator here and sort it out. If you have dealt with a TD then they would lose much more than they would gain by ripping you off.
  17. I'll try to look out for it, do you know if it will fit with the cartel bezel?
  18. I meant to write service inserts, had just been reading over dial stuff so the word must have been on my brain . So I'll restate Where would you suggest for finding a service insert for that price?
