  1. Chief is right, but we have to learn from our mistakes... TWP, LWA, K2222, RBJ What do they have in common? Thats right people, don't trust modders that are identified only by initials
  2. You'd only be allowed to use it in the "great white north" my friend
  3. I know your intentions are good TJ, but its just too easy to get around that system. By the end of the day I could scan my phone bill and doctor the numbers to show my cell number. If you want a drivers license, thats easy too. Do you honestly think that Josh, Andrew, Jay or Paul are going to give the Admin their personal info? Not likely. My proposal would be a more financial based plan. Say the modder has to pay $100 per month for the right to do business here. Now, that is not a fee really, and the money would simply be held in trust until the modder decided to "retire". At that point, an announcement would be made, and after a specified period the modder would recieve the entire amount via paypal. The longer a vendor participates, the less likely he is to walk away.
  4. And how would we verify that any information a dealer provides would be true? A cheap pay as you go cell phone and a photoshoped drivers license is going to give you peace of mind?
  5. The problem Stephane is that when a member has negative things to say about a particular dealer/modder, it usually draws the wrath of that dealer/modder's supporters. For some reason this rep game makes people extremely loyal to the people that they do business with. Complaints are generally seen in a negative light by many members, whether the complaint is valid or not.
  6. Yes, the Rider tabs are the little bits that overhang the crystal. You do not need to remove the bezel on the SOH in order to remove the crystal.
  7. Keyless works need to be reset. Send it to a watchmaker
  8. When you start wearing replicas, there is a point where you either choose to be honest, or you begin weaving a web of lies. Once you tell that first lie, there is no turning back. I was very upfront with the people I work with as well as friends and family, and I find them to be no less impressed with the quality of the watches I wear. If I had chosen to try and pass that first rep off as a gen, I would have had to come up with another lie to explain the source of the tens of thousands of dollars that I would have had to spend on those gens. The moral of the story for all the newbies out there, be honest and don't even think of telling that first white lie because it will always lead to another. It always feels better to answer the truth with pride than to answer with a lie and shame!
  9. Never really understood the allure of rep iphones. The real deal iphone is fairly cheap, you just end up paying more via overpriced data plans. You will still need to subscribe to one of these expensive plans with the rep phone, so it just doesn't make any sense.
  10. Lets not get carried away The dial on the gen PO is perfect. everything is straight and clean. The crown screws down very smoothly. The AR is beautiful. The pearl is perfect. No competition here, the gen is far better.
  11. I tried on the gen 45mm last week and have to admit that the bezel felt cheaper than the one on my UPO. Not sure that I would be so critical of the movement and bracelet however.
  12. Nursing a little bit of a hangover today, I spent the day on the couch watching TV. To be more specific, me and my Chrono Avenger spent the afternoon watching Leo Decaprio and his CA in Blood Diamond. As I have a HD PVR I was freeze framing at any decent view of his Breitling. In one scene in particular it was very clear that Leo had unscrewed the crown and it appeared to be pulled it out to the setting position. I wonder if he had frozen the time so the watch would not spoil the continuity of the relatively short scene. I could see this being quite a pain in the ass as a 30 second scene can take hours to film. The Chrono Avenger is fine in the hack position, because it would be very hard to spot the non moving subdial hand, but using a non chrono watch, it would have to be running and would have to be reset with every take. BTW, the scene I was referring to appeared to be in the afternoon, the watch showed 8:00
  13. great pics and a beauty watch Robbie, thanks for sharing!
  14. LOL, I should try and talk my dad into treating himself to a verrry nice watch
  15. True, but Breitling has large and small versions of the heritage, slightly different in function but similar enough. The super avenger is essentially a oversized chrono avenger or Skyland. The make them a little different but not by much.
  16. Robbie, I think the UPO lume is adequate out of the box. I have one stock and one wit The Zigmeister lume and the difference is not that great. The Zig one is better, but not by much. BTW, the one that was relumed was a Silix version which has crap lume, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.
  17. I disagree, I think the 45mm PO is executed perfectly. Lets face it 42mm is small by todays standards, and there is a market for both sizes. I think Rolex has been hurt by its refusal to adapt to the "oversize" craze.
  18. Nobody knows for sure, but you would have to think that givin the UPO's success, this would be a great watch to release an ultimate version of. Lets hope!
  19. These are very nice watches, and owners of them seem to be very happy. You mentioned the "white dial" is popular, and there is a reason for that. The slide rule ring on this watch is much too wide. With the white dial this flaw flaw is somewhat hidden, while it is exaggerated with dark colored dials. The white also hides the lack of AR. As for the two-tone finish, it looks nice enough, but don't forget its a rep, and since the gold is plated it is not likely to last, especially on the crown. Remember, you cannot polish the gold bits either. BTW, you call this a small watch, but even though it is smaller than its 48mm big brothers, it is still a very substantial watch.
  20. Sweet watch! If I wasn't livin in a van down by the river, I'd order one too
  21. I assume that it is similar to the gen PO insert and will need a significant amount of material sanded off the back before it will fit the rep.
