  1. Hey buddy, I am tempted too.
  2. It is highly recommended but you can also complete the task with no tools
  3. Pete, thanks for sharing
  4. Argh...this is the most important inaccuracy I read so far for the SMP-C. Thanks for sharing
  5. I would suggest sandpaper, but it's a trial and error process, patience is key, if you shorten the stem too much you need a new one
  6. Not 100% sure but you might need to adjust the stem lenght. However the hardest part is replacing the tube: in some reps it's a smooth operation but sometimes removing the old tube can be a real pain in the neck.
  7. Common flaw in the 5th gen 42mm PO. Buy a spare tube and crown from Ofrei or CousinsUk.
  8. I am not crazy for this pilot watch, one of the few IWCs I do not like so much, but the quality seems impressive
  9. Interested too, they provided an excellent AR coating service
  10. Apart a datewheel swap it's near to perfection, true
  11. Keep the v2 grey Porto e sell the Chronograph Gold and Panda. I'd let go the Big Pilot too.
  12. No. I buy a rep aware there's a precise list of mods/improvements to do. I usually take for granted the movement needs to be swapped or serviced (mostly for a poor power reserve) and it's very sad.

    Pop Quiz

Left dial's gen with ETA dw (no Iwc dw)
  14. Yeah, too fishy to be true... Quite frankly the new LM rep case is so good that without the S/N is very hard to say if gen or not from pics....the AR crystal is a reliable indicator as well but light reflexes are too variable to be 100% sure if you cannot look carefully at the crystal in the flesh. As for the pearl...well, on the new LM pearl is almost spot-on.
  15. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-Planet-Ocean-Liquidmetal-World-Premiere-Case-Crystal-Caseback-/111146535938?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item19e0d98c02 Do you think it's gen? It'd be quite difficult to tell a gen case from a rep case for me if I don't have both in my hands. Can we look at the serial number?
  16. the dial's really amazing, take a lume shot if you can, it ll be impressive!
  17. TIGHT , nothing more to add
  18. I like that watch a lot, I ll be all over it if they can release a very accurate replica. Of course they need to price it according to the value of the gen: 340usd would be too much for me.
  19. I feel you, same here.. that's why I have to choose very carefully...my purchasing power really sucks and reps are becoming dearer and dearer
  20. Gotta go to a AD and try this SMP-C on...the new thickness is my only concern...I know for a fact the diameter and the shape of the case is almost perfect and fits my wrist even better than the 42mm PO.
  21. I couldn't agree more with cougar1 too and I have to say I am a little bit tired and bored with comments like "it's a rep, yours expectations are unreasonable". Here we are discussing about obvious crooked logo and dial markers in a >300USD rep (Asian Eta), not so minor flaws. I still have to hear someone complaining about the not 100% accurate dial in certain light conditions. That would be unreasonable. Just my 2 cents.
  22. Yes, looks like one of the cheapos from Silix
  23. true, i meant the 3717-01
  24. Fantastic watch....even better than the 3717 imho
  25. I was unsure between the new LM PO and the new SMP-C and NOW I am even more confused. The watch looks fantastic, bracelet too (I can hardly see gaps). Choices, choices...
