  1. To buy a watch like that, I would think you'd have to LOVE it...no looking back and second guessing yourself. I love it. Would not wear it because it screams "look at me!", but I can appreciate it on others. Wear it well.
  2. I think the washer and/or click spring might have got pinched somehow. Bezel needs to be removed and reinstalled ensuring friction washer and spring is correctly positioned is my suggestion.
  3. I didn't think MY sold 6538 hands for eta. Are they modified?
  4. Nice. Are those CWP hands?
  5. Its a gen T19 superdome that's been polished a few times in the past 40 years
  6. Gen T39? Congrats. Welcome to the superdome club.
  7. Guys, I need a way to hold a watch case on a lathe or other machine tool. I will need a mandrel of some sort that can expand on the inside of the case and hold firmly in place using a collet of some sort. Something like this home-made unit I scrubbed from the internets: Is this something that is ready made somewhere? Or is fabricating it myself the preferred path? I think something that expands from 27-30mm should fit most Rolex cases I imagine.
  8. It is the end of summer. He could be on vaca.
  9. I think the lugs are too thick to be a ST. I'm goin with TC case, Yuki 3135, gen dial, gen hands, gen insert, gen crown. I've edited my post. I now think the bracelet is a TC V3.
  10. Despite all the watches that have past in and out of my watch box, I will have to say that the venerable Seiko Monster remains as the best value, dollar for dollar, watch one can buy... I've owned the Black, Orange, and a modified Yellow Monster. Built like a tank.
  11. If that is his claim, then he just committed fraud. If you have email communication from him requesting the service, then clearly that will be in your favour. But I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. I'm very [censored] off after reading this.
  12. Sunset in Stamford:
  13. Those cases are rare now since ST stopped selling them couple months ago. Not sure they will stock them again.
  14. The 16600/16660 SD uses a completely different insert than the 116660 DSSD. It's not the right insert for you
  15. Still not as accurate as a Grand Seiko spring drive.. Which is about +/- 1 sec... Per month, not per day.
  16. Congrats Thomas. You keep raising the bar. Well done.
  17. I've got a couple of gen 16600/16660 SD inserts
  18. It's not a MKI OP. Great job on the case work.
  19. Its a rep, get over it
  20. Ha. I looked at the combo as well, but I needed the deck on the sander to adjust to less than 90 degrees (at 0 the deck is perpendicular to the grinding fence) if you know what I mean. All the work feed decks on all the other sanders cannot go negative.. Only obtuse angles. The Delta was the only one with a rack/pinion deck adjustment that could go from -45 degrees to +45 degrees. Fact it was on sale and they threw in a free work stand was the tipping point.
  21. Ha. Nice try. Almost had me. Very cool if real though! http://www.snopes.com/photos/technology/nailgun.asp
  22. I "needed" a new variable speed grinder. But the sander was an impulse. Thinking of trying to use it as a lapping machine using some 3M diamond lapping pads.
  23. Browsed around local machinery supply store today.. Walked out with a bench grinder and a disc sander (yes, I paid for them).....
  24. My gen 114060 appears to be fairly accurate Fun toy.
  25. I dont have an android device. However, I have used Kello, which is an iOS app. It's crap. microphone just isnt sensitive enough. The timegrapher I bought is night and day in comparison.
