  2. Agree on both counts. Glossy dials can be a problem too. I use these on dials, which are lint free, and micro fibre tipped..
  3. Both movements look like Asian, but difficult to say for sure without better photos showing the stamping. I'm in EU and could help you out if you are looking for someone to fit new movements for you. Drop me a pm if interested.
  4. Correct, the retainer on the GMT is a nylon ring, similar to a crystal gasket in looks.
  5. Ah I see, that is crazy. Have you informed Yuki about this ? TC sells hand sets, so you may want to try him?
  6. When you say too short, do you mean the actual length of the hand itself, or the tube of the seconds hand?
  7. Another vote for a crown clutch problem. There is a spring and clutch in the crown, sometimes this construction can become faulty and cause the issue you mention. TC had a batch like this too which he replaced crowns FOC to customers who had a bad crown.
  8. Tell the dealer than you are unhappy about the mistake the factory has made, and ask for a partial refund, or discount on next order.
  9. Just tell him the crown is broken, and you need a replacement. You can discard the small spring, and old crown when he new one turns up. You need to extract that stem though to fit the new crown, and it won't be easy looking at your photo.
  10. Welcome aboard, it sounds like you have it bad
  11. Does anyone know which movements share the same click spring for the ST19? Looked on cousins for the Venus 175, and found a click spring for the Valjoux 7730, but its not a circular print like the one found in the ST19.
  12. Lovely Congrats on popping your TC cherry
  13. If you are referring to the nuts within the watch mid-case, shown when removing the case back, then you can make your own tool providing you have a dremel, and a spare correct size flat screwdriver, or PAM tube.
  14. Welcome aboard, and greetings from Finland
  15. Usually just a couple of weeks.
  16. Depends on your location. Where are you?
  17. The only time I have experienced issues with customs is when someone didn't follow my instructions on how to ship. Providing you agree, and follow my shipping instructions you will be fine.
  18. Its something I have been asked to do, so looking forward to the challenge. I have experience with making custom hour, and minute pinions for Vintage Pams, but this will be my first genuine Rolex hands on an a ETA job.
  19. You sure do have more snow they we do. All ours has gone now after a very odd winter. Lack of snow, and lack of the usual -40 temps. The coldest it got this winter was -17. We also had our first non-white Christmas in Finland, first in half a Century.
  20. I understand completely. Thats one of the reasons I try to only accept work from EU members, however, I have taken on repair/servicing from outside of EU, and had no problems with customs, that is providing the sender follows my instructions to the letter. One guy failed to do so, and his package was held up at customs for two weeks, and caused me no end of grief to get it released.
  21. What you are referring to is a date wheel overlay which is bonded to the actual date wheel. I would either, inform/educate your watchmaker on its construction, and how you have to remove the, (different to removing a date wheel on its own), or send it to a watchmaker like myself who has experience with these.
  22. Welcome aboard, and greetings from a UK guy in Finland
  23. Welcome to the forums Tady Greetings from Finland.
