So what size is the qc pic just above?
The 45mm seems to have the correct bevelled date window, but i also notice that the silver ring on the insert is closer to the pearl triangle than the gen.
Also, the - between CO-AXIAL seems shorter than gen. Just minor stuff but i can't wait to see mine!! I really hope the AR & crystal is as good as claimed.
Pics are up on Angus' site now: Yippee they finally fixed the clasp! On the outside at least.
Caseback looks good. Didn't check the model number but it's not a Steelfish number.
So far so good, well done Puretime & Noob! :-)
I've already pre ordered two Explorer2s from Angus, but it looks like one of these is definately next :-) I've already pre ordered two Explorer2s from Angus, but it looks like one of these is definately next :-)
Wowsers! Me want! And here was me drooling over the gen at Costco! I sure hope they got the clasp right. That is my biggest hate of the reps: the bad clasp stamping.
From memory, the gen dial diameter is 32.5mm. The rep dial is about 31-31.5mm
The outside diameter of the Rep slide rule is 37.5mm.
I'll could check my gen Navi Fighter for its slide rule size later (i'm not wearing it right now), but i suspect that the bezel size is different to that of a calibre 23 Navi or even an Old Navi.....?
If the gen slide rule is from an Old Navitimer it should fit the gen dial fine. But the potential problem is if it fits the rep bezel.
did you measure the internal & external diameter of the gen slide rule? Unfortunately I dont have a rep slide rule dimensions to hand but can easily check later. My rep Navi crystal is on its way back from AR coating....
yes the quartz one (unfortunately) but we know we'll never see the 2894-2 in a rep

I was going to do a detailed review on this latest SOSF, but decided to mod it. So I guess a review is kind of unambiguous.
Here's the difference between the dials. Gen on the right. The AR is actually better with the richer gen dial.
And where the rep bezel font matches the gen, the rider tabs are narrower
Agreed with Yannou about the dial.
I had the old skool ETA fish, with a gen silver/cream dial... and now I have the v2 rep (clone movt with black dial)
I'd definately keep the v2. 99% of peeps won't know what colour the dial 'should' be.
the v2 has a slightly more accurate bezel, in terms of number placement. The pearl is also more gen-like, IMO.
