  1. I switched the bezel on my v2 skyland. The rep bezel comes off very easily using a bergeon remover. The cheap plastic donut type. The gen bezel is not a direct fit. There is a lip on the case chimney which is a different height to the gen, so you will need longer screws and a thicker retaining spring. Or you can just bond the bezel onto the case permanently.
  2. In short. No. The quartz miyota os20 has closer subdials than the 7750. Date window and dial feet will be different positions too.
  3. That's terrible news and a surprise to me I was in touch with him last week and was wondering why he hadn't replied. I hope he makes a full recovery ASAP.
  4. Probably why it ended up on the 2nd hand market, because someone forgot to lume it ;-)
  5. The gen batons are lumed! Look at the very outward end. There is a step for a tiny lume square. You'll see this on your rep aswell
  6. Yes it is definately gen. The date window is right up to the slide rule scale, and the scale itself (and the Breitling text) shines silver metallic - because the gen dial is silver plated underneath the black. On the reverse side (brass in colour) there may be a black stamped code such as M204 or similar. I see that it needs luming on the batons though
  7. Looking at Joshs qc pics, the dial is more brown than purple. The subdial spacing is obviously dictated by the 7750, but I personally like it. The other 'issues' don't bother me, as long as it's nice to wear :-)
  8. But brush the hand quickly and just once, avoid too much contact with the lume
  9. Nice work! Q tip with white spirit or nail polish remover
  10. Oh, the date font "2" is different, but just look at those lovely retro hour indices, with the lume infill!
  11. The gen photo is underexposed, but in other pics, the dial color match is very similar. Rep also has the sunburst pattern
  12. This is quite a cool watch, IMO. Looking a the vendor pics and videos (angus & cartel) it looks like a very nicely finished watch. I pulled the trigger on one today. I didn't see any glaring flaws. It just looks like a very nice piece to wear everyday
  13. Hi folks, I was attempting to strip down a 6498 (seagull st36), but when I went to loosen the screw which holds the crown winding wheel & collar, the screw head broke off! I can still remove the barrel plate but I want to get the broken stud out. Any ideas? It is a TAG decorated movt from a Carrera calibre1, so I need to save the decorated plates rather than just swap with a normal unbranded movt. Thanks
  14. Wow that is a lot of watches! And I thought I had too many! Congrats on the cool collection! :-)
  15. As krpster said, a tiny bit of jbw on a shaved toothpick. Press it into the outer link rather than on the bar.
  16. Someone really ought to say to the makers that this sub standard work is really not on. CNY or not.
  17. How the hell did it even leave the factory looking like that though? This is supposed to be a high quality rep!
  18. Thanks for your comments, guys. Most appreciated. I don't often complain, it's only when I feel something is unfair or preventable. Makers and sellers (a number of TDs have been less than rosy IMO) need to be more switched on about what goes out the door. Having a rush on shouldn't mean that standards are lowered. I'm glad that the situation has been resolved. Sorry to thread-jack to the OP
  19. Well I'm pleased to say that Joshua has replaced the happy feet PO with a correct one. I received new QC pics today. All is ok this time Phew!
  20. Yeah the rest of the watch pleased me while I reviewed them while stupidly still half asleep. I even suggested the possibility of a logo mix up by the maker, but no, mistakes don't happen do they?! Josh has had thousands of bucks off me for the past 6+ years. Not a cent more now
  21. What pisses me off is that it costs him nothing to replace it. Yet it costs me or some other Dozy fu k 375 bucks
  22. It's from Perfect Clones. At first I said it was ok. Then an hour or so later I realised and emailed back to ask for a replacement. He basically refused and said that because I initially said ok, it was as good as shipped. And that it wasn't happy feet, it was 'reflection'. I asked for another pic but he again refused. So much for loyalty & QC hey. I know where my future money isnt going that's for sure.
  23. I thought my 42 was perfect. Then I saw the logo! Wtf!
  24. Cougar, thanks for the mega cut & paste, I just saw that thread on rg. Lol :-) Hmm yes, some peeps are put off by one or 3 issues on the 45. It is pretty stupid (or greedy) to deliberately produce the wrong caseback. Perhaps the anticipated LM rep will revert to a plain caseback, forcing us to buy both!
