The safest way in my opinion, is to remove the glass, then you have access to pick and lift the insert with your finger nail. I damaged a fair few inserts until I changed to the glass removal method

For me it has to be an a7753, to fix the sunken date . I can live with no quick set date. Then sort out the subdial size. Job done, perfect v2. Otherwise I can do the raised dw mod on a 7750 but would rather not mess with it if possible.

This is true. I rejected the first watch that was offered because the engraving was so bad. Off centre and sloppy. The dealer argued that it was my eyesight blah blah. Second one was as good as I was gonna get . But then I still wasn't happy so ended up putting a gen bezel on!

Angus's Navi is nice, very nice. A definite improvement over the other rep. Sub dial spacing isn't that obvious, but i think the date wheel is still sunken. The Ar is better, possibly double ar. It appears that the light source is directly overhead hence the light reflection on the hands. I think we would've seen an angled view of the ar If it weren't for a sunken date. The case back and bracelet are better but still not overall not as good as super ocean abyss. It looks like it was made by the sosf v2 maker

You can buy the hollow pins, which I think you are referring to the one that links the flip lock part to the bracelet. I'm sure I've seen them at cousins UK or another online watch part seller. failing that, buy a similar sized non branded clasp, and cannibalise what you need? If its the solid pin with hammered ends, that would be a job for a watchmaker. Just make sure they are of stainless 316l or similar.

The right thing to do would be to send it back. Have them fix it. But if it were to be a keeper, for the expense of a service, I would put a verified eta movement in it instead.

When I had my gen navi crystal replaced by breitling, it cost in excess of 300gbp. And then there was the additional overhaul cost!

I might be mistaken but I think those 'gen' eBay crystals have also had the outside layer removed. Which is why they ended up on the used market
