I am having the same dillema. Still not sure what to choose, there is a lot of information to be found. For starters I found this comparison on HF: http://www.homageforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=28012&hilit=6538 The HR looks good to me for a starter, but can it take a plexi?

I have send this watch to my watchsmith together with my HH514 (this one was sent to him for a spa treatment), and he told me the watch was running fast because of a magnetized hairspring. He has fixed this, and just to be sure I had asked him to clean and oil the movement again.

Welcome to this addictive hobby. Stay with our TD's, as AJ have said before me. You can find them here: http://www.rwgforum.net/forum/230-watches-clothing-accessories/ This is also a must read for our newest members (http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/85981-hey-noobor-not-so-noobread-this-now/), you can find here a lot of information, and if it is not there first try to find it via the Search functionality. Most questions you would have are asked before.

This is my dreamcar. If I buy this for the wifey, I will never hear her complaining again about my watches.

Thanks guys. So first check will be to see if the hairspring is magnetized. If that is the case can I demagnetize it with one of these cheapo demagnetizers? And if it was over oiled and there is residue on the spring. I need to remove the entire balance [censored] and dip it in some one dip to clean it. Is that correct? I already was planning to buy some new tools like a timegrapher and a oiler set, but it seems that I have to order these a bit sooner as planned to resolve this issue.

i have got a Asian 6497 which is running about a minute per hour too fast. From what I can see the hairspring is sticking together, and therefore it is running not very well anymore. The movement was cleaned and oiled before I got it, and on the photo's of the watch in the sales thread it looked good. Probably during the transport, or during wearing it the last couple of days this issue occured. Yesterday the movement suddenly stopped, which I noticed a couple of hours later, and a little bit of shaking the watch was needed to start it again. What can I do? Should I let it run until it stops, and then try to use a very small screwdriver to seperate the coils? Or if it persists do a full cleaning of the movement, and maybe replace the balance wheel to fix this. Or does anyone know any other solution to fix this issue?

Forgot to mention that because of CNY it is best to wait ordering watches until the end of this month. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/176158-chinese-new-year/

They are both trusted dealers here. If I where you I would check their sections in the trusted dealers list for the correct url's.

Yesterday I picked up my Noob Pam 127 aka Fiddy, modded by (BBB), which I had bought last week on RWI. I was browsing RWI last A week ago, and the sales thread was just only a couple of minutes online when I decided to buy it when I saw it. This was one watch I wanted to have. After some searching I found a really nice 74 Corrigia strap for it, which I hope to see at my doorstep soon to make this an amazing combo. The mods done on this watch are: - Middle case rebrushed - Bezel polished to reach a mirror finishing - The teethed external surface of the crown has polished, like the gen - The CG body rebrushed, the edges chamfered and polished. - The CG pin polished, the top edge slightly softened, slightly recessed - Flattened and polished Cannon Pinion, flushed with the hands - Polished bevels on Ratchet and Crown wheels, the brushed side a bit lightened - All bridges were slightly lightened, the "soleil" finish is more evident and brilliant - Thicker gaskets on caseback and crown, both gaskets greased with silicon grease - All jewels and wheels oiled, the mov runs smoothly. Good time. - Waterproof test @ 6 atm And now some pics. (Taken from the sales thread)
