  1. My BK DSSD, it doesn't getting anymore wrist time lately.
  2. AJ, nice find. But am I correct that the ROLEX text still is not perfect. Compared to the gen dial the L and E characters seems to be a bit incorrect to me. The gradient from black to blue looks very good. Below is a photo of the gen dial.
  3. hi guys, I have stumbled upon this dail on Ebay, and I want to know what your opinion is about this dial. And what would be a good price for it? http://www.ebay.com/itm/390936978330
  4. Those midcases don't look gen to me.
  5. Same seller is already discussed back in 2013: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/161070-rep-cases-on-ebay/ According to that thread, stay away.
  6. Nice. Big Crown next to the Amstel
  7. Sounds familiar, I had this with a Yuki 3135. With some help from Mike (Misiekped), and some articles about gen 3135 movements I was able to fix it. At first I was not that happy that I screwed up the movement, but it turned out to be a lot of fun, and I learned something about movements (it was my first time I worked on a movement)
  8. The Dutch postbag strap came from another Dutch strap maker, http://www.dstrap.com/
  9. I have bought a couple of leather Nato straps from them, they are made from nice soft leather, and they look good. Here is one on my 5514.
  10. Your last build will be great. I am guessing that's a keeper.
  11. My pride and joy, my Franken HH 5514 HH5514 case set Gen Rolex T19 service crystal Gen Rolex 1530 movement Gen Rolex feet first 5513 dial with tritium hands Gen Rolex 702 crown Athaya 7020 tube Gen Rolex springbars Gen Rolex MK3 5513 insert
  12. Sorry, you lost the bet, seen that many times years ago. Don't forget to remove the pins before flight, and put them somewhere safe. Not on the intake please, that will cost you some drinks in the crew room.
  13. After finishing my 5514 build I couldn't decide what my next build would be. I got inspired by the beautiful 6542 and the big crown builds, but I could not decide which one to build. Then I found last week a very nice Rolex 1225 movement on Ebay, and I started searching for info about the watch where it belongs to. It came from a Rolex 6694, and to me this is a very classic looking watch which is also not flashy or blingy, it is just a nice watch. The watch case is without crown 34mm, and with crown 38mm, so for my wrist it is on the small side, but perfect for my gf's wrist. So I decided my next project would be to build a nice looking watch for her. If she is happy with this build she hopefully would not complain about the following Franken project. I have seen some nice examples with a gilt dial, and some with a perfect NOS looking dial. I do like the gilt dial look, but if I can find a reasonable priced NOS dial I will go for that. I have already seen some good priced gen parts, so probably this will be a full gen build. What do you guys think of this brown gilt dial look, or is black better looking? (This is not mine, but I hope to build something like this)
  14. Yuki has the 7206 currently in stock.
  15. Indeed, but I have no clue what this is about (And I am an IT guy) SEO is rocket science.
  16. I am guessing it is a Franken with a ST case. The dial looks a M series dial, hard to tell on my cell phone if it is a gen dial or TC dial.
  17. Vintage Rolex 5514 on a canvas Belstaff bag
  18. Excellent post. Good reference for the movement noobs like me. Did you use a tech sheet?
