  1. Without any doubt, my HH 5514 is my favourite watch.
  2. A gen insert will fit, but why not buy it here on this forum? You can find one here: http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/167493-backinstock-fs-new-rolex-1661016800-genuine-insert/
  3. Received my new straps made by DStrap in Alkmaar, Holland. They are made from a old canvas postal bag. They look very nice, but I am wondering if a leather strap fits this beast better.
  4. You can use a gen 3135 date disc for the Y3135 without modding as far as I know. As for the hands, on my 16800 build with a Y3135 I used Sean hands, and on my Sub (with a Y3135 movement) I have gen hands
  5. something like this maybe? http://www.yukiwatch.com/catalog/item/6380817/10005457.htm
  6. Franken, why? For me it is enjoying the chase for parts, picking up knowledge about the watches, and getting to know some great guys who also enjoy this hobby. When a project is completed I am really proud about the result, and wearing the watch makes me happy. Yes, I know I probably spend to much money on a project, but I don't care, these builds are staying with me. These two I have build so far.
  7. They are almost finished, hope I can wear them on Saturday.
  8. These should arrive this week. Made in Holland from old postal bags.
  9. Finally after some months of sourcing all the parts for my grail build, my grail build is ready. It started when I was able to buy the last 5514 from highoeyazmuhudee, and from there the search started. The gen movement was found on fleebay, and the amazing dial and hands where bought from fellow member Fitch. The specs are: HH5514 case set Gen Rolex T19 service crystal Gen Rolex 1530 movement Gen Rolex feet first 5513 dial with tritium hands Gen Rolex 702 crown Athaya 7020 tube (a gen 7020 tube wouldn’t fit the case, athaya’s tube fitted perfectly!) Gen Rolex springbars Gen Rolex MK3 5513 insert Here are some photo's: Next to my Franken 16610
  10. Today's choice was easy. My today's finished uber Franken HH5514. Its just amazing!
  11. Are you sure? You probably can find it at your airbase. Check the guys from the Ground Support Equipment. Don't know the NSN number, but I know its available. Found a couple: http://www.wd40company.com/files/pdf/wd_40tec16952473.pdf
  12. Damn, awesome. I am starting to like these watches so much. Thinking about building one for myself (if I can find a dial like this)
  13. Very nice build, I am waiting for a new gen second pinion to arrive, so I can finish my build.
  14. I did know it would not be cheap to service this watch, I was expecting that it would be around €450 in total, not €714 Replacing the hands is a no go for me, I want the case, dial and hands to be original, these give the watch the character it has. I will ask the AD if they can specify which parts they want to replace, and why. And then I will decide I if will let them do the service (the AD has send the watch to Omega), or go to an independent watchmaker.
  15. I received today a offer from my AD on a complete service of my 21 years old gen Omega Speedy Reduced, total cost incl. replacing the current caseback will be around €718. The crystal needs to be replaced, they want to replace the hands, and some other movement parts.and the movement needs to be cleaned and greased again (last service was more then 10 years ago) Can I demand that they not replace the hands (I want to keep the current vintage look), and can I ask for old parts they want to replace? This is the beauty:
  16. I would go for one of these: http://www.specialopswatch.com/products-page/air-stryks/camouflage-air-stryk-1/ http://www.specialopswatch.com/products-page/patriots/camouflage-patriot-1/ They look like they can handle 9G.
  17. Never saw this coming. What a match in the second half.
  18. Well, this is the first time for me, never had any issues before. I hope I can sort this out soon, and then the watch (a PAM Honpo 187) will arrive at my doorstep (in this case at my office doorstep, because I had it shipped to my office)
  19. This watch does not come from a dealer. Its a watch I bought here via M2M.
  20. I checked today the tracking status of a incoming watch, and Postnl told me I will soon receive a letter so I can give them more info about the contents and value of the package. According to them this is not clearly defined by the sender, and I need to provide some info about this. Does any of the Dutchies on this forum had this before, and what should I do?
  21. You are right, this is one of the best 5514 I have seen so far. I have just bought this nice gen 5513 MK3 insert for my 5514 build. Hope mine will end up just as nice. On topic, I started my hunt for a vintage Rolex with a nicely modded (and not so expensive) cartel 5513 (modded by Dutchguy), sold it a while ago, but still miss it.
  22. Nothing beats a gen dial, but those are not cheap.
  23. Goodlooking watch. Wear it with pride.
  24. Omg, check out the Trusted Dealers section. Its really hard to miss it! http://www.rwgforum.net/forum/196-bks-watch-garage/ http://www.rwgforum.net/forum/280-tc-submariner/
