  1. From what I read the "best" Noob LMPO has been definitely discontinued. Toro is the only TD still stocking some remaining samples (probably all with the one or other mislaignment/issue), We´re in for a long wait or m2m. Unfortunately did not get one in time, thinking about the SM 300m co-axial new release.
  2. Gracias as well. Real fine bronze caseset, will look into that. And thanks for the hint with the Mega folder - that will be fun to explore in the next days
  3. Before going for the 60mm Egiziano or a U-boat for my 7.5 wrist, I just ordered a 54mm watch from Amazon $35 shipping included (that´s 1/2 what I paid for shipping only from some TD´s). Surprisingly all functions work - on automatic - on this - alien indeed - kitchen wallclock masterpiece. I would even like it, if it wasn´t for that fake tourbillon thingy hole in the middle of the dial. Point is, that max 48mm are enough for me, can´t go any further, so I ended up happily with the Mini-Egi (and love it)
  4. Hi and welcome. A little bit unfortunate situation on Your first buy. The dealer only goes shopping from his sources when the money is in, so it happens. Your options are to ask for a refund, pay the $60 more or choose another watch in the price category the first one was. It´s not guaranteed the swiss movement is better, I normally buy Asian, Asian movements are new, the swiss ones are refurbished or dirty or are Asian ones anyway. I would take a quick look at Torobravos offerings pricewise for the Noob Lmpo or Crpo (and maybe shoot a mail asking if it´s available), than go from there. Don´t go into arguing with the TD, either pay the supplement or ask for the refund and buy with him next time something else. Good luck in sorting this out.
  5. "though the watch hasn't been serviced since 1969 (seriously), it operates flawlessly, as do the chiming and alarm mechanisms." according to Hodinkee: http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/henry-graves-supercomplication https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPWxvFjl4xQ&feature=player_embedded&list=UUelkSnSbxvIfjjD01uPHHbg
  6. Nothing to worry about, probably missing a digit, some TD´s even don´t send tracking (but good watches);
  7. Hola y Bienvenido. Already liking that PAM with a nice leather strap - is that a bronze caseset? Looks great and vintage. Hope to see more of Your builds and You are definitely at the right place here.
  8. Hi and welcome 1. if the TD says so, it must be true.....mybe try looking from another angle 2. fact: the ar on the cyclops-gen is single-sided 3. with the pro-hunter stealth Explorer You grabbed 1 of 100 worldwide, it´s a (very) limited edition, the chances of running into a gen-owner during Your lifetime are nil 4. the lettering and the GMT-hand on the gen are bright glowing orange, on the rep they are "dull" and that is more of a tell, anyway: who has a gen to compare? If it´s a "must" - which it isn´t - You can always have a modder double-ar the cyclops; Don´t worry, focus on a good power reserve, smooth running rotor, bright, long-lasting lume, triangle looks well-aligned and mainly: enjoy Your watch It looks hefty, stealth and i love GMT´s. Looking forward to more pictures just to enjoy them, nice watch. and gen sub from a blog to watch
  9. Hi, have You tried here: http://www.dex-i.com/querytracks?tracknow=new What did You order?
  10. Looking forward to see one of those 29ines fixed with a blotch of white tipp-ex into a 28
  11. Hi and welcome to rwg. Stay away from Chronos on the first one and look for a Superocean Steelfish or Abyss 42 or 44, all 3 of them great ones.
  12. It really doesn´t matter, it depends on who assembled it, with how much care and under which conditions (i.e how much dirt got in during assembly or not). For shockproof You have top-chinese quartz (not a joke, they are good) It´s definitely on my wishlist, I do like the retro-look and Omega is on the right track here:)
  13. For a perfect one mymanmatt is the way to go, but be prepared to spend a substantial little. The DJII 41mm version TD´s carry (creamy white - not bright white and other numerals) is this one
  14. Very nice choice, would go with Sead as well.
  15. Mine´s the V5.1. from some time ago, so I´d pick up the JF-7 - main reason: it comes on a SS bracelet - version (Intime) - it´s cheaper to pick up a rubber strap than the other way round; - read that the datewheel-font has been updated - the bezelring-nrs are slightly smaller, more gen like than on the V5.1 but You´ll need to compare pics
  16. Hi and welcome. A bit later is always better than never. Just a word of caution, Daytonas with running seconds at six are prone to breaking down, not recommended as first watch, vintage Daytonas with seconds at 9 are fine to go. Check out the TD list - everybody is able to (quite safely) ship to the UK. The best will be to read around for a week clicking and looking at everything and checking out the Rolex section, than deciding.
  17. Quite reliefed to see I can still stock up a bit after the first creative pause around 30 . If You do like Rolex/Panerai and AP, I think sooner or later it´s really easy to end up with 5-6 of each. Throw in some 3 Omegas/Breitlings/Seikos and IWC´s, a dresswatch, Chronos and some novelty or rarity and it´s quite easy to get into the 40ies. While having managed the past decade with just 3, it´s just more fun to keep the level at/over 30. Looking forward to get some more nice vintages now to round it up and sail happily along.
  18. This Explorer is one that runs months in a row with me, not always but often on the wrist with a perfect power reserve and great lume for reading the time during the night
  19. The APROO with secs. at 12 is the pure luxury watch. For $358 You can get the non-chrono AP Diver V7 latest version, which is a fine rep with a simpler, more reliable movement. Completely different level than that one posted. Check it out as well.
  20. As it´s new send it back and meanwhile order another watch from another TD to pass the time. The turnaround will be 2-3 months. As it´s being repaired, not replaced it´s not so great but there is nothing You/we can do about. A new 2813 costs around $30 usd but the cost for putting it in will probably be another $80 to $120 (just supposing) plus posting, unless You have a rep-friendly watchsmith around the corner.
  21. Both the 44 and 42 are amazing quality reps. Love my 42 and it wears big (bigger than a ceramic sub). Got it from Toro but that was some time ago, just shoot him a mail.
  22. Thanks a lot for the update - with lume this really is a fine offer.
