It´s become a somewhat difficult decision, because You don´t know beforehand if You need the extra-qc or not (Pearl, rehaut engraving, dwo and sel-fit). If You order from Toro with the swiss movement it´s the same price as BK (for the movement, without the extra qc). If waterproofing from BK is extra on top or included I don´t remember. If You get the $408 one and later want to align these things (if needed) You´ll get it done for $180 but than You still have "only" the Asian ETA in it.

As I understand it, TC means parts only are shipped from different locations. Than he works together with at least one lady who assembles watches faster than he himself (that was for the Yachtmaster). The TC sub is a nice watch, high quality, get it.

It´s definitely the A7750 decorated to look as a P9000 with a fake escapement wheel. Here 2 pics of the "composite" titanium one:
-
A "nothing original" vintage 5513 with several mismatched replacement parts over time. Exactly like I found it, lying forgotten in a damp and rusty box for probably the last 30 years. Very comfortable to wear on the leather:)
-
The bomberjacket strap I got it from strappedfortime the bulang&sons type one from Martu straps, she´s very fast (2-3 days) and makes really fine handmade straps at fantastic prices.

Yes, those, in that order.

Nanuq, Dbane and CC, those 3 are all awesome, each in it´s own way

Has anyone ever asked you about your rep?
Nightwatch replied to thatkidavid's topic in General Discussion
Hi, just act natural or talk about the watch. Normally people don´t care/notice at all except for Rolexes. Ask questions, get to know the person better and see where it´s going. Always nice, if You do know about the brand/model You´re just wearing. Anyone can save up for 1 gen, it gets difficult/strange if people/strangers You repeatedly meet, start seeing You with a different, brand new, expensive, shiny one each time. Sooner or later try vintages and retro-looking, those are nice and fine, have history and may always have been given to You. -
Like many others I come from that angle as well, while maybe 1 to 3 gens are nice to have, for owning more, the maintenance, insurance etc. are just too expensive/restricted and the service in Switzerland is a nuisance (6 months away). Everything other than Rolex imo is not advisable anyway (unless of course You´re really filthy rich and have lots of staff, so the house is secure). Working on reps is fun, they are much easier to waterproof (just for swimming) than said and after being around for a while, if one of mine really stops running, I´ll just get a better and new replacement movement to throw in and that´s it. What may be a game-changer are rep-prices, because at increases of 28% to 36% all 6 months for new releases, they are already at a level where lower priced gens or 2nd hand ones are becoming attractive again. While in the past I totally relied on expensive gens for diving, together with the uprise of dive computers in the last few Years cheap watches like the Citizen Aqualand Promaster with depth meter, rapid ascent alarm etc. imo have become more suited in practical terms to do that job.

At least You can see and read something with that size, must be good for browsing:) Congrats I´ve also read, that those are meant to be stuffed into the back pocket of Your jeans before You sit down!
-
Still could be they have a terrible backlog because of iphones or something. The Coventry record I´ve seen on the forums was at 4 weeks, so it´s still within time (to have it normally released).
-
Coventry doesn´t sound very good. With Toro You have the via Spain option next time, if You ask. It always takes so long anyway, than this on top is terribly frustrating, almost impossible to bear. Good luck.

Asian ETA are the best price/quality relationship and most reliable. If it breaks or needs a service it´s easily replaceable for another Asian ETA, Sellita or Swiss bought from Cousins, O.Frey or another source.
-
The Sellita SW500 will be the road to go - review: http://www.ablogtowatch.com/sellita-further-targets-eta-with-the-sw300-and-sw500-watch-movements/ Still don´t see it for sale here: http://www.ofrei.com/page_183.html

It looks better on the wrist than on Andrews pics and classy, even with a little bit vintage looks, almost want to get one... Have had one complete stop only until now, on a non-chrono A7750 with bridges. Also send it back with a positive result - 10 days to get there, repaired after 2 weeks, than another month to return. Working since.

The pics were so fine I took out my white Steelfish I had been wearing in Summer again. It´s an amazing rep imo. You´ll like it.

This looks awesome. What affine watch. Congrats, enjoy

Big Dazza works his magic on 6538 Big Crown
Nightwatch replied to momo.sweden's topic in The Rolex Area
Very nicely done. It´s a fine built. Like this. -
New "Caribbean" look on my 5513, wanted it to end up quite a bit less faded but in the first 2 seconds nothing happened:)

Hi and welcome, take a look at pictures here: https://www.google.pt/search?q=rolex+serial+number+engraving&biw=1366&bih=661&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=KKk9VJ_LJIvcoATm-oCACA&ved=0CEAQsAQ

This probably doesn´t apply because it´s too old, but I love it - 47mm Mini-Egiziano from Sead and another fav, the KW386, although the gen of this was never released Yesterday I´ve seen the PAM425 with P3000 superclone, awesome but terribly expensive, it´s just been released, so it´s a new "old", not sure about the movement and sapphire glass costs extra

Going to wear several at different times of the day:)

Quality differences between replicas
Nightwatch replied to someone1234's topic in General Discussion
There will be subtle or more obvious differences You cannot make out on the small pictures on TD´s sites. Always better to look for (many) member pictures of exactly the model/type/maker You want to buy. The LMPO from toro seems to be a great rep. There are 2 quite nice quartz ones as well, the Dark side of the moon (there is one cheaper and one good model, I think no ticking seconds at all) and a regatta one (Dubai?). For reliability nothing beats quartz but once You´ve seen the smooth sweeping of an Asian ETA You simply can´t go back except when there are small or no ticking seconds and it´s a microstepper.
