  1. First one is a rep, because of the m after 300; It´s a BP sub, probably from Trusty or PC when looking at the insert and sel Second is a rep with the datewheel aligned to the left and no metallic paint on the numbers; To improve the "non-spotting" get a very high quality white shirt, best with cufflinks and an expensive tie to go with it, simple solid gold ring on the finger instead of the bracelets.
  2. Hopefully all goes through but DHL/IT/EU points to triple trouble as at the very least they will ask You to pay the VAT/ import tax on the items and the common recommendation (?) is not to respond at all. Sometimes there is an exception when they do the complete customs thing on location in China and the merchandise just enters Your country freely. As You paid higher shipping fees and the TD/shipper should anyway be aware of the risks shipping to the EU/IT and be specially careful, You should receive full replacement if anything goes wrong. Good luck (As I expect this & similar situations to happen not able to take the wholesale offer for myself)
  3. That looks like a strikingly handsome dresswatch. Great find, I do like the subdial at nine with the "invisible" seconds hand and the triangle just floating around and the seethrough look on the movement is a nice addition. It´s a very fine choice, congrats.
  4. There was an old, long thread with several references to similar models http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/166629-blancpain-fifty-fathoms-preview/. DSN makes hommages and Dagaz sells dials (for Seikos).
  5. Seems like a good deal............. for Apple: "At the current gold price of about $1,175, wrapping 2 ounces of gold around its watch technology would cost Apple $2,350 per timepiece." The gold-edition will cost between 11.000 and 18.000 euro in the EU, including almost 3000 euro VAT. Suddenly the SS submariner became just another (almost) cheap watch......
  6. Tudors for now as I just got the little Cartel 21j last friday.
  7. V5 - it´s positively impressing
  8. Apple plans on selling 1 million of the gold watch edition.....per month! To relate these figures: by March 2014 somewhere on earth the 500 millionth Iphone was sold. And the pocketwatch until recently still could be used as a fashionable dress accessoire, but to me it just has become antiquated fast. Still was happy in catching a cal 616 Cortébert Speciale and I´m quite impressed how it simply winds with a solid, smooth&agreeable touch and works with total reliability after all these Years. and there is an inherent charme and def. beauty in pocket-watches:)
  9. Hi and welcome. I have 2 of these and they are running fine for well over 1 Year by strictly following the rules. There are several about when to set the date, where to stop the chrono if it is used, non-winding etc. They are more sensible than other reps, meaning if You ding against something it´s not shockproof. While the urge is there to get a chrono as the first watch it´s better to stay clear unless it´s quartz, best bet would be to get a non-complicated watch with an Asian ETA first. Before You buy the A7750 in my opinion You need: other watches to wear; the contacts of a reliable watchsmith able to service it, few do, read in detail about how to handle the movement. Don´t use the chrono is easily said and only use it when the watch is on good power-reserve (which means wearing it for 2-3 days as it shouldn´t be winded) but once You get it "You need to try it out just once or twice or....." You get the idea.
  10. That dial is simply a w e s o m e:) Congrats on this beauty build.
  11. between $120 and $240 are perfectly fine for a nice toy that You just want to have, without giving it too much thought or for an impulse buy once in a while. Imo from $250 upwards You get into a totally different decision-range where the purchase has to be considered and evaluated against alternatives (gens or just other items like TVs, smartphones, RCVs, notebooks, cameras, gold or silver coins or just any luxury article) which are abundantly available in the $300-$600 range and which are also fun, come in full working order with warranty etc. I´ve tried/have several of these overpriced ones but the quality or reliability of otb reps, respectively the risk You are incurring is not on par with the fantasy price. As prices won´t come down any more, I hope they stabilize on present levels while the quality and/or warranties improve (replacement instead of repair etc.), making these reps an alternative again. Let´s see how it goes, for the time being I´m just looking at quality builds, one time or the other checking on m2m but most probably just saving for the next used quality gen or lower/mid range gen-novelty.
  12. Informative review and very nice pics. Of course the gen crystal is something else on this specific model You own:) Thanks for reviewing, enjoy it well.
  13. These bronze watches are fascinating. Nice shots and patina, someday have to get me one:)
  14. Great write-up and nice story. Congrats & enjoy, looks like a fine piece with a vintage strap to go along
  15. This ......... is a thing of beauty. Congrats Nanuq
  16. Just hit watch tool box in Amazon and order one for $15 to $20 usd with the basic stuff, lugbar and pin removal tool, caseback opener, some screwdrivers, pliers and lupe. Imo no need to have Bergeon tools in the beginning, but toothpics, silicon grease, blue tac and an o-ring greaser are fine.
  17. Thanks for trying it out. Can´t get direct shipping to my EU location so it would get too expensive anyway. Not a keeper, it´s what I´d expect from a Silix cheapie in that price range. Nice touch with the simple box.
  18. It´s sead1999rg@gmail.com, probably off for CNY now until end of the month. some comparison shots:
  19. 10th February 2015, also revisited a Year later, almost on the spot. It´s a timeless and fine Chronograph, only things I can point out is I´d like to easily change the strap on it by not having a special/unique size and the lume could be much better. Otherwise the A7750 movement is running strong, the AR coating is fantastic and the design/coulours quite unique. The next Summer can arrive:)
  20. DBAne- Yours is a real "ghost":) beautiful - that´s what I meant when saying "I didn´t want to scratch mine"
