  1. Just get it with the incorrect handstack but reliable movement and enjoy it. In practical terms in a Years time I noticed it twice on my GMT 16570 Explorer II - and I wear it daily, at least for a few hours and do check the 2nd timezone. It´s a non-issue, there are other things to worry about if it must be.
  2. Jut looking for an old&worn look on a budget: my reworked Cartel-Tudor
  3. This seems to be a debate going on since the forums exist. In the end it will only sell for what the market pays. I doubt there are Noobs wanting to pay more than $1.000 anyway, disregarding how good the built is, so I see the Noob-overpayment in the sub-$1.000 range if it happens. The better the breakdown and the description is and the detail of the pictures, the faster and better it will sell. And there are perfectionist members on here which will hunt for a specific dial or insert or movement for months to produce a rep "that is better than gen". when it comes to vintage. Just saying the price works both ways, if it gets too low (compared to the input/work/expense), for the selling member it just gets uninteresting to sell or is not worth the hassle.
  4. Hi Philly, this is a Forum and members are supposed to start by reading about everything, dealers, shipping, watches ,models, factories, modifications, prices, movements. Form the ones You listed the most sensible movement with a good price/value relationship is the Asian ETA, for saving a little bit it´s ok to try out the Asian 21j cheap movement as well. As You are saying, this is an investment You are doing, so some research before buying is alright. For the blue/black ceramic for instance it´s called a Batman GMT , there is the BP factory which has blue lume but the case is not so good, the Noob version is the best but it comes with green lume etc. You will find these things out when doing the research and also what to do about, it takes time in the beginning but it will also get You better watches. A nice watch to look out for and a simple choice is the Tudor Blackbay V3, allaround quite well done.
  5. Hi and welcome, You´re around for some time already, nice to see You.
  6. Not perfect, but these Cartel vintages are great to experiment around
  7. Wackobirdkeeper aka WBK has the reliable quartz-version. Looks good & is thinner, chronohand sweeps, secs at six tick, but those are small. Cost just below $200.
  8. Thanks for the replies/infos, checked them out better as well, the shippers, but they are much too expensive and do charge full import taxes and VAT. Together with the miserable euro-exchange rate feel myself like sitting on an EU-island having to accept local crazy high prices and really nowhere else to go anymore:( No wonder there is no growth in the overtaxed EU-zone and it´s stagnating, except Germany doing well with exports.
  9. Better looking ones/other colours: Paul Hewitt on Amazon Leather: cheapestnatostraps.com, imho very good price/quality relationship for the leather ones going to take a look at Miros-time now:)
  10. Nice to know, thanks for sharing, Conus or EU?
  11. It´s just marketing if it´s on TD´s sites, the same as 1:1, gen dissected and others. The only reliable way is to research and read about the specific model, version, maker here on the forum, look at members pictures and than make Your decision.
  12. That hurts, but it´s as far as my watch-experience with insurers goes. And if You have them in separate insurance You can have one expensive gen at home, the others in the safe or no coverage etc. etc. With some luck Your insurance could cover for water leakage/damage? Good luck in sorting all out and than coming back to a normal and happy life.
  13. It´s really there (and works): http://www.ttw8888.com/ Sometimes local providers are blocking the adress, try again later or use VPN.
  14. Great help here on the Nike´s, fine. Regarding this forwarding service, is it just a random pic from the net or has anybody actually used it for shopping? Thanks:)
  15. This Abyss - in yellow, black or white is always a great choice. Easy to go with the black when it has the best movement, for me the white is equally stunning:)
  16. Very interesting and informative to put some myths of the table. Imagined something like this and tech-wise they are even 2-3 years further ahead, no wonder. The PAM604 looks stunning. That was a great find, thanks for sharing:)
  17. Issue really will be the size if 39mm is acceptable or 41 or 42mm. I´d keep looking on ebay and maybe search for vintage brands, Hamilton imho would be fine.
  18. Glamour shots of the 5512 21j Cartel, all homemade, I´m having fun with for now
  19. If the post office even makes those forms the buyer imho is entitled to a new watch. In other threads the TDs justify premiums of 15% up to 30% just to cover this kind of situation and doas. Was it resolved by now, thread should be updated conformingly.
  20. You have not been scammed, wait for the mail, the website is not accessible, just tried.
