Hi all, I am looking for end pieces for a modern Day Date in gold to wear with a strap. Model 118138/118238. I have located several options for the older models but cannot seem to locate any for the modern case. I absolutely love this piece especially with the strap on it and I doubt I will ever put the bracelet back on it. The end pieces would make it just that much better. Any help much appreciated. Pic of the piece I am talking about.

OK, I will post a couple up. Not sure they really qualify as Frankens based on some of the others posted. 16750 Gen dial, crown, crystal, insert and bracelet. 118138 Gen dial, crown, crystal, bezel and strap/buckle. 116233 Franken light Gen dial, crystal, and crown -

Both beautiful classic time pieces. Recently finished a 16750 and it turned out really nice but ended up way over budget. Getting everything to fit correctly was somewhat challenging even using genuine or gen spec parts. Finished piece. Good luck. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

I use my phone mostly for work email and to access charts via VPN. I am in healthcare and like the added security of the fingerprint reader on the 5s. I loved the old blackberrys with the keyboards. I am not a real techy guy so do not use any phone to its capabilities. I used a razor max for a while. Good battery life but phone crashed occasionally and collected viruses at times. Then a Galaxy which was a great phone for ability but had similar issues with viruses and crashing and poor battery life. Never been an apple fan but tried the 5s and have been pleased. May not perform like a droid in some areas but is very stable and easy to use. Does everything I need and never crashes or has any issues. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

As others have stated. Too hard to count on getting Swiss eta so go with the A2836. Last 3 I have received are running good still....not much for a sample size or testing period but better than the last couple of "Swiss" stated movements I got which were doa. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

Beautiful car. I am an Audi guy. Just got this last month. Special order 2015. FYI I think i will also order one of these watches in my beloved Seahawks colors. Wish they would do the colors on the insert too though. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

I will get one but not right away. My work pays for mine so easy decision. Was android before the 5s. Like the simplicity of the iPhone so will stick with it. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

Apple/i Watch reveal! what do you guys think?
droptopman replied to magicpimp's topic in General Discussion
No thanks, I will probably upgrade my phone though....or I can wait for Rolex to make a phone. Oh wait they make watches..... that work without being connected to a phone. Sent from my droptop using telepathy. -
You can get it back. Try the green course pads to take out the gouges from the sandpaper. I have converted polished mid links to brushed using the green scotch bright course pads then the grey to finish. Worked great. I did one by hand and one with a dremel with wheels like the pads. Going from course to fine. Dremel worked the best for this. In the end final finish work needed to be done by hand though to keep grain straight. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

Always cool when dreams come true. Congrats. No question on this. Rolex 16613 my first gen back in the 80's. Bought it for my 20th birthday present to myself from Ben Bridge in Seattle. Didn't even haggle over price....paid full retail. A friend of my dads had one and I was always telling them someday I will buy myself one of those. My dad would always say stuff like, "ya you better because I ain't". Kept it for a long time but sold it a few years ago to buy a Corvette race car. Sold that too. Should have kept the watch as it had been through a lot with me and I still miss her. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

Looking for members opinion on a customer issue
droptopman replied to KB's topic in General Discussion
Wow Ken, sorry to hear about this. Part of me thinks that you should send it back to them but that will just create more issues for you. Anyone would logically conclude to package it up good. Customer needs to assume some responsibility for shipping it like that. If it was me I would be happy with a reduced cost on a replacement item, but generally I am easy to deal with:). Your proposal seems way more than fair to me. M Sent from my droptop using telepathy. -
I don't think Rolex/Omega/AP have anything to worry about...

Eeek. Gotta love that old stretchy band. I think one of my colleagues at work is after that one to replace his digital timex on stretchy band. He's a Doctor too.... Can't figure him out. Drives a beautiful car but loves weird tech stuff. Hey I have never had a watch with butterflies. Work already has me tethered to my phone no way in hell I would ever wear one of these. I do like some high tech stuff but not in a watch. Sent from my droptop using telepathy. -
3.5 hour layover at Sea Tac....just digging this DJ II. Funny I keep trying to love vintage pieces and I do but for some reason I tend to wear modern pieces more. At least this week. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

Did you do something to the dial or did it come that way. The aging and fading looks amazing. Keep coming back to stare at this. This is my all time favorite model and at some point will do a build. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.
