  1. Sorry to hear about this. I have bought a lot of watches from Angus "Puretime" and always been really happy with his service. Just the luck of the draw IMHO. I would email Angus directly and see if that changes anything. Good luck on a resolution.
  2. Good morning gents. Recovering from shoulder surgery yesterday. Hard to take a decent pick with right arm in sling...
  3. There is a gen service dial for sale currently....
  4. CC's 369 dial and hands would fit nicely on that...
  5. Snowing again. Work Christmas party today. Little green, red, and blue.
  6. I like this set up a lot. Love that dome without the cyclops on a GMT. Beauty!
  7. Like the fuel gauge for power meter. Interesting and different. Not my thing but cool.
  8. Lol, where are the vintage Rolex ornaments? I would say that is a fire hazard but being in a few feet of snow should be OK. I will grab a pic to contribute when I get home. Merry Christmas B.
  9. Out for a run with my 1016 before the Hawks game.
  10. I am still hoping my friend gets this sorted out. He got busy with other things but plans to return to this project soon.
  11. Gen refills are worth the expense. Franken pen....
  12. Congratulations! Awesome build man. Dial looks great. Dbane is the case whisperer and does bevels better than anyone. Really outstanding looking piece. I miss my big crown build [emoji45]
  13. Road trip. In the middle of a 7 hour drive
  14. Hi and welcome to the forum. Look for one in the sales areas here and on other rep forums. Or you can find a nice gen in the 2k range. A good franken in the $500-1000 range. Matt is slowing down and I don't think he is taking any new customers. As I said look for one of his builds in the sales area. Also look for Stone P as he has nice DJ's for sale fairly often. Here is 1983 16014
  15. This looks really nice man. Especially if it is your first attempt.
  16. I remember going to see the original at the Neptune theater in Seattle. My Aunt was going to the UW at the time and we waited in line for several hours to buy tickets for a show the next day. It was crazy cool being in the U district in 1977 and seeing the Star Wars mania. I was 11 years old. Good times. Think of the royalties they have to pay to use the Vader theme. I would guess a majority of their margin is going to Lucas Films.... Not a fan of their watches or any that large but always fun to see what the "marketing geniuses" will come up with for a big release like a Star Wars movie. One of my best friends has worn a humungous gold Nixon for years. He bought it at Nordstroms so they re-plate it for free and he has it done a few times. I was always giving him a bad time about how bad it is (in a fun way), but I have to give him credit he liked it and kept wearing it even with all the flak we gave him. His father passed away a while back and left him a mint condition 16013 from the 80's, so he has retired the Nixon and joined the Rolex club. Big change going from that "clock" to a DJ but only took a couple of days and he gets it. Now he is always bagging on himself for wearing the Nixon. No offense to anyone that likes Nixon. Everyone should wear what they like.
