  1. oh oh... what are you doing? I love those rusted and pitted looking hands on that single red!!! show me more
  2. well Dr.B? is our resident vintage expert correct? This is very exciting even though i have no clue how you guys know all this stuff haha
  3. I would for sure send my rolex for double AR!!! I cant believe gen Rolex crystals arnt done from the factory.
  4. Dont know who "you know who" is but like the guys here said, you might wanna ask him whats going on.
  5. I got my pam127 from Angus and it has AR but i dont think its double AR... there is very little glare but no blue tint at all either.
  6. This class is to advanced for me haha :cc_surrender: The fine line between franken and gen is too blurry these days haha.
  7. check my pam127 review in this section.. its my first pam and i love it!!
  8. I am a photo noob!! Like i said i just read all the photo tutorials and they taught me exactly how to take good pics.. easy easy easy!! New pics added of the orig brown stap now distressed!! Looks WAY better IMHO cheers!!
  9. pictures can be decieving.. .if you take a picture too close up, the rehaut will appear conical in the photo for some reason.. you need to take the pics in the macro setting at a medium distance at high resolution then crop it down to size later.
  10. The noob factory made "Noobmariner" 520117 serial Submariner is the MOST accurate sub rep out of the box IMHO. Any other $100-250 rep has glaring flaws like conical rehaut, incorrect date position, poor bracelet, poor crown and crown guards.. the list goes on...
  11. The last thing you want to do is buy a movement for $500 plus shipping then find out it needs a $200 service and $400 in parts to make it keep time properly.... even then theres always the chance the movement trashed or all rusted inside.. always be careful when something thats worth $1000 is selling for $500... there's probably a reason for it. buyer beware.
  12. WOW looks like a great project.. definatly drill out the lug holes.. get the right size cobalt bit and just drill it out using WD40 for lube. its easy.. you can hold the case in your hands using some heavy work gloves and drill with a cordless drill.. the bit will follow the path of least resistance so its hard to screw up the hole. just drill it SLOW and easy so you dont break the bit off in the case.. if you do that then you're in trouble. cheers dizz

    MBW 1680 mod

Gen end links would be ideal for sure but you can get new end links just about anywhere and some wont even need to be modded to fit the gen springbars.. Just think of this setback and "part of the fun" of modding your watch. Once you get the endlinks sorted out you will be glad you drilled the holes out.
  14. i just find it funny how hes soooo amazed by how good the watch is.. haha
  15. HAHA wow! Dont you learn that in uhm.. grade 1?
  16. Yes saphire with light AR.. its not strong enough that the crystal has that blue look or anything.. ANd yes guys i am a photo-noob but i learned TONES from Pugs photo tutorials!! So the credit goes to him!
  17. Me and two others threw the biggest Halloween party in town 2 days ago on saturday night. The comon costumes this year were variations of Pirates for guys and slutty little almost naked girls in white lingerie and angle wings.. I thought i'd died and gone to heaven! LOL I love halloween
  18. Even though my FIRST and only love is vintage Rolex.. I have always been interested in the Panerai watches. I always thought they were so unique, sort of like Hublot 10 yrs ago. They just had that "look" that catches your eye. Ive been into replica watches for over 10 years... collecting, destorying, trying to fix them and now modding them into frankens. I never thought i would buy a Panerai rep but as i get older and wiser (in the rep world anyways) my tastes are changing and in the last 3 months i had fallen in love with the idea of building a NICE plain Pam. I narrowed my likings down to either the 111 or the bigger 127. A few weeks ago i was talking to Angus from Puretime and he made me an offer i couldnt refuse Angus offers a number of Panerai models as well as most other brands. He had a few options for the Pam111 and the Pam127 and i figured i may as well go for the big one. After all, everyone needs a wristwatch the size of a roll of duct tape. This one is big.. 47mm. Its about the same size as my Breitling Bentley Chrono T. Angus has a few options available for the Pam127 and i chose to get mine modded with Superlume and to get the canon pinion mod done at the same time. I figured these were the two mods i wasnt going to attempt myself haha. It also has the AR crystal and upgraded crown. I also went for the new Asian E series 6497 with dagger swan neck regulator movement. According to some reviews ive been reading, this is a very GOOD movement and almost identical to the gen except for the design of the gear teeth. I didnt feel the need to get the swiss one when the asian copy is this good. After a couple of quick emails the watch was on its way and in my hands 5 days later. Not bad at all for shipping time. I was impressed. The one thing that really bugged me was the nice shiney new unscuffed strap.. YUCK!!! way to nice for me.. but dont worry we'll take care of that later THE PICTURES Here is the Pam127 'Fiddy' with another strap i bought off ebay last month.. I know most people hate it but its mine, i love it and too bad The tan strap that came with it has been removed for distressing. Dispite its monster size, this watch is actually very comfortable on the wrist and a lot nicer than i ever expected. I am very impressed with my first Panerai and im just trying to deciede which one Angus will be sending me next haha.. My bank account hates me. Heres a few pics for you. Im a noob photographer so i know the pics arnt perfect Here is a shot of the back of the watch. Its got the E series 6497 with dagger swan neck regulator. ... Its very detailed and looks VERY good. Its got superlumed sandwich dial and hands... and the canon pinion upgrade modification done by Angus before i bought it. Thats right, you can order the options/upgrades you want Pretty sweet deal is you ask me. I havent tested how long the lume lasts yet. For the pics here, i just charged it with a flashlight and it dies in 5 min.. but i had it out in the sunlight and it glowed for hours after. The Zigmeister told me that 'Superluminova' brand lume (as used on rolex) glows for up to 5-8 hours after exposure to the sun.. I have a feeling this wont be as good as The Zigmeisters lume but we shall see... ***New pics*** Heres the stock light brown strap after some sanding and a soaking in bleach for 7 minutes... And one quick last shot for ya... Cheers dizz
  19. back on topic... I like this dark mother of pearl dial.. might look good on a white gold daytona too.
  20. get some leather cleaner or something.. there must be a chemical on there thats affecting your skin. What if you even washed it with water? just let it dry naturally so it doesnt shrink. But im sure a good leather cleaner will work fine.
  21. watchmaker9 used to sell noobmariners for $600 haha.. his new sub is ok but IMHO its about the same as an MBW because it still needs the same mods. His two tone sub is either a two tone from the "noob factory" with the F520117 serial # or its a two tone MBW and you can get one from TTK cheaper. Skype him and ask if they are in stock.
  22. They usually do that when they are having payment issues with their paypal account. They open the section to everyone. Dont get to used to it... it wont be there forever LOL
