  1. ouch! haha im a Panerai noob!! Yeah the strap was $20 plus shipping ANYTHING can be vintagized!! LOL I dont like the buckle.. i want the wide pre-V style.. i like it better
  2. I dont think a diving watch should be on a leather strap... well unless its a PAM But thats just personal opinion of course. Just use a little locktite on the screws and they'll stay in fine.
  3. i have a lot of different oyster rep links and not even the rep screws are always interchangable. Gen screws might fit one model but not another one. You would just have to find some gen screws and hope for the best.
  4. i had a great full size tudor sub years ago.. i bought it for $400 and sold it 3 years later for $600... wow i should have kept it.
  5. 269 is a good price for this assuming its an ETA movement. Its a very nice sub for sure.
  6. haha yeah this is a little contradicting.. sounds gold plated to me. OR its solid 5k with 14kt plating. 18K SOLID GOLD 2 TONE BAND & BEZEL & CROWN First layer 5K + Second layer 14K GOLD on the BAND
  7. There seems to be a lot of interest in this idea again.. TWP was talking about it last week also. I think customs would be a problem though. WOuld be horrible to lose it that way.
  8. wow you didnt waste anytime modding it!! looks very good but it seems to require the same mods as an MBW and its almost double the cost. Did you swap the crown and tube or does it actually come with a tube that thick? If so thats a huge improvement over the MBW and helps justify the cost. ALso i prefer the solid link bracelet but that just personal preference i guess.
  9. I got it off ebay. User name is Meteor. Its a very nice strap. I'll order up some tubes. they dont cost much. thanks for the advice. cheers Lonnie
  10. i have 2 main watches that i am currently using.. but some days will wear up to 4 or 5 of them becasue i get bored of the one i am wearing hehe I should have my Fiddy next week.. i wonder how thats going to fall into my rotation... hmmmmm Main daily beater Breitling Bentley T chrono for dressier events Sorry for the poor pics. i see i goofed when i photoshopped the Bentley dial. I missed a little piece haha I suck at taking pictures but im learning
  11. I think some members may have different ideas of what "the best rep" means. This isnt a bad thing, but its just a difference of opinion. You could either say its the best because its my personal favorite and it feels good on the wrist... and someone else might say its "the best rep" becasue its the most accurate to genuine and really really well made. When i think about "the best rep" i think about build quality and accuracy. Even though the HBB isnt a watch i would wear and will probably never buy... i do consider it to be one of "the best reps" available right now. Ive always loved the Hublots.. even back 10 years ago they still had a cutting edge style and i always was impressed by them.. still wouldnt buy one though.. its not my style.
  12. My anchors and seals i had to buy from a Rolex AD. They didnt come with rep box sets years ago but they might now depending on the supplier.
  13. I agree that this is a noobmariner and i am guessing becasue of the rehaut depth that is shallower that an MBW or TW. Check the serial number between the lugs to be sure. Its prob F520117 like bklm1234 says. This is a VERY good replica and in my opinion more accurate than the TW best anyways. I hope you didnt pay too much for it becasue its also one of the least expensive sub reps.
  14. just be careful sending it back and hope the chinese customs dont get it. If i were you, i would look for a local solution first and failing that, then send it back. UNless of course you are in the same country then theres no issue returning it.
  15. you need to use a 1.2mm screwdriver into the slot to make sure you dont push the button in to far. If you push the button in to far then you mess up the keyless works. Trust me i;ve done it myself. Its an easy fix for a rep friendly watchmaker.. probably $30.. if you search there are tutorials here on how to fix it yourself but you need to take the movement out, remove the dial and hands and remove some small movement parts and fix them and reinstall it all back together.
  16. Just post the item numbers for us if you can. As far as i know.. the full size tudor sub is the same as the Rolex 1680 except the rehaut on the tudor is shallower?? I alwasy thought it was the same but i know i read here somewhere that its not the same. Anyways.. if you are just swapping the dial then it doesnt matter anyways. You could probably use a good rep dial that might have the same dial feet position.. or you can use a gen dial and grind off the feet and glue it to the movement somehow... Ive seen it done before. Only real problem is that the engravings betweem the lugs would then be incorrect. Its prob not worth it to do unless you happen to have a tudor case or a complete broken watch laying around. It would be cheaper to build an MBW franken 1680 with a gen dial and crown and bezel. You can build a nice franken for $700 or so.. A vintage tudor submariner alone is close to double amount that these days. Lonnie
  17. its gunna be interesting to see how this all turns out..
  18. Not sure.. email him and ask. You can find his email in the Pure Time collector section, Or in his photobucket under the contact section. If you can find it i can PM it to you.. not sure if im allowed to post it here.
  19. I was thinking about using some of that gun sight paint. Is it actually tritium or just some sort of luminous paint? They have bright green and orange. I might order some green for the sights on my cz75 9mm and see how it looks...
  20. I guess you could as long as there is enuff space between the minute and hour hands.. I just ordered a PAM127 from Angus for $248 shipped.. includes canon pinion fix AND superlume.. not a bad price. And just like yourself, if i like it then i will order a FULLY modded swiss swan neck version and sell this one. I should have it next week so i'll let you know how it is. Check out the RWiki section and The Zigmeister has a posting of how to properly fix the canon pinion. Hes got some super closeups and you should be able to see for yourself if your mod idea is possible. POst pics if you try it!! Lonnie
