well if watchmaker9 was as honest as he says he is then he would send one of these new Subs to one of the Admin or MOds here for a review. After all this is one of the major rep forums that ive seen. One of you guys must know this guy? Tell him to step up and hand one over for analysis... and when you're done send it to me Lonnie

i can for sure see them going to a Daytona bracelet... Its a great bracelet and a better clasp but a little too 'fancy' for me. It will be really exciting to see exactly what Rolex does here... just hopefully the Submariner wont go the way of the Yacht-Master II.... The last thing i want to see is a 'Clown-Mariner II'

there is no point buying this watch for $650 when you can have an MBW for $350.. they both need the same mods done. For the $300 saved, you've got enough to pay for your gen crown tube installed, a good bezel insert and pearl, and a Noobmariner to pillage for its bracelet and dial. Its just another failed 1:1 promise.

ya if we had a vintage room we could do this all day long!! Maybe we should rename this "The Official Vintage Rolex Thread" and see how long we can keep it going!!

Noobmariner... get it from TTK. MOST accurate and about $100. TTK has them in stock last time i talked to him.

I think you would have a hard time wrecking that watch by wearing it out in the snow haha. That 1665 would be hard to wreck doing anything... I hate snow

The pearl looks completely wrong to me.. bezel insert font is wrong as mentioned... wrong bracelet... incorrect crown.. and they ship you a watch where the bezel doesnt stay on??? Does this have a 520117 serial number between the bracelet lugs?

Watchmaker9's submariner looks to me like a lightly modded Noobmariner and nothing more. TTK will hook you up with one for about $100.

I'd pay about $1500 for a case, movement and dial but not much more. $2800 would be pushing it even with a gen 93150 bracelet, superdome, crown tub, insert etc etc included...

Uhhmm... it looks a little.. well... I dont know. I kinda like the look without the little gem there. Personal preference I guess. My insert on my 1665 is new.. i am trying so hard to leave it that way. I just want to scratch it up and dunk it in bleach for a while...

They will simply just start building more movements in china. They've already copied the ETA 28xx movement almost perfectly and they new 7750 is apparently not too bad at all. Seagull is already being used in a lot of reps... I think for the consumer, its a bit of a dissapointment though. Im a big ETA fan, but the asian copy movements are getting better and better so i dont think we need to worry too much.

nobody in their right mind would hand over their real sub when they can hand over a cheap fake and say "sorry i dont own a real one". What are they gunna do? haha OJ would have to be an idiot to hand over an authentic rolex when fakes are so easy to get.

i remember walking into a big watch store in Vegas... i asked if they carried Panerai (pan-er-eye) and the salesman looked at me like i was an idiot and said "its pronounced "pan-air-eee" the way you would say canary (the bird). I was like "uhm ok buddy" haha. My Italian buddy i was with started laughing at him. It was good. They were actually a Panerai AD, among other brands and their sales staff cant even pronounce the brand name, brutal.

i dont know why rolex doesnt at least put a single AR coating on the inside at least. They could glue the cyclops on afterwards. It would probably make a big difference on black dial watches like the submariners.

TTKs noobmariner is the most accurate in unmodded form. Narikaa's Nymphomariner is the same watch. Andrew drop ships so there is zero quality control.

well hopefully... even tho the auction may end before they pull it.. the unlucky buyer may have some recourse if they investigate and find out its a fake from the reports we sent... hopefully the buyer uses paypal for safety.

Yep pretty much a franken. They are just being sneaky in the listing. There are no pics of the movement so it may not even be a 1570 in there... definatly NOT worth anywhere near $12,000. might be worth $500 or $1500 if theres actually a 1570cal movement in there. seems like he mostly sells camcorder batteries and he has one or two watches in his ebay store.. one being a datejust with a cyclops thats not even close to being in the right spot and the dial looks weird to me. the spacing around the 4 and 5 o'clock markers looks off. might just be the pic but the cyclops is definatly in the wrong place. I just reported this auction becasue someone is getting fukked for $12k here and thats a LOT of money to pay for a replica.

i just ordered another insert from this guy and paid for it 2 days ago... we'll see how long it takes to arrive. Ive never had a problem with him before, hes usually pretty good.. things do get lost in the mail though i suppose.
