  1. sounds like an asian eta copy.. the real ETA has markings of course. I wouldnt send it back because you may never see it again considering customs seizures and all. The new Asian ETA copies are pretty good apparently so its prob not worth the risk of returning it as long as its working. I would definatley contact Trusty and ask him whats going on and maybe you can get a partial refund or credit. Doesnt hurt to ask Lonnie
  2. couldnt you use clear UV glue and use that to glue the crystal into the gasket? That might seal it up? Lonnie
  3. Gen is the best of course but if money is a concern then i would go with the clarks superdome... you can get them for about $60 i think Lonnie
  4. How can you tell if it "winds both ways" if you cant open it to look? im assuming you dont mean the crown winds in both directions becasue i have never heard of that before. Lonnie
  5. its sorta like thier rolex reps with the gen movements... they are over double what it would cost you to build one yourself with the same parts. Lonnie
  6. my 1665 looks like crap lol i need to beat it up a bit more.. maybe a couple cycles through the washing machine will make it better Lonnie
  7. how about sharing with the rest of us? The case looks better than MBW to me and that sure looks like a gen crown and tube.. just look at the tube diameter. Is this one of those expensive Vietnamese cases that i keep hearing about? 1520 movement fits in there hey? interesting.. i have beaten old air-king date i might canibalize the movement out of for my MBW... @Repaustria - tell us more about this watch? Sounds like you know more details Cheers Lonnie
  8. Yep The Zigmeister told me he uses C1 'bright white' for the 16610 and hes gunna be doing my MBW16610 franken soon LOnnie
  9. haha thats a good one Lonnie
  10. Now that i see the new batch of pics, you can really see the sub dial spacing... pretty far apart Lonnie
  11. TTKs case is the F serial number.. i got one of the ones that Andrew has and its a D serial number with conical rehaut and date window too far to the right and worse crown guards... Whoever you deciede to buy from.. just check the rehaut and date window placement and these other non-moddable things before you buy. Crown guards you can fix.. bracelet you can swap.. but a conical rehaut or date window too far to the right cant be easily fixed. Lonnie
  12. oh my god! thats all I have to say. Dont u dare change that original crystal. I think im going to throw my rep 1665 into a cement mixer for a few days to make it look like yours.. wow Lonnie
  13. if you want a DRSD then get the MBW becasue the cheap ones are totally incorrect and will SCREAM fake to anyone that knows Rolex. FOr a 1680 you can prob get away with modding a cheap one.. but for the sea-dweller you need the proper thicker case and bezel. But it depends what you are looking for in the end. I am a Freak when it comes to reps and need the best options possible. Lonnie
  14. yeah i have become a master at wrecking keyless works no matter how careful i am... i'm about to make another donation to The Zigmeisters kids college in a couple weeks LOL. I finally made a 1.2 mm screwdriver especially to release stems now... so hopefully i dont wreck any more movements LOL Lonnie
  15. Can u give us a hint? Perhaps just the brand name? Is it another crazy rare vintage rolex? LOnnie
  16. So thats all the info we get hey? lol The sub dial spacing doesnt look to bad. Some of those old "Swiss" daytonas were just rediculous years ago. Is this Asian or Valjoux? This one is prob 100x more reliable than the new "time bomb" sec @6 LOnnie
  17. Where is it?!?! hahaha Im excited to see what you are getting... because i KNOW its gunna be something good You never fail to impress me with your collection Lonnie
  18. Very nice collection my friend! I like the Ebel chronograph and of course the GMT II Lonnie
  19. 1680 mag is supposed to be biger... Noobmariners and such are usually too small and about 2x mag, My noobmariner mag sucks.. gen 16610 is 2.5x and the old 1680 look to be about 3x but thats how they are supposed to be. Lonnie
  20. HA HA ya right.. unfortunatly this is 2007 and the sames rules do not apply. It reminds me of the episode of Seinfeld where Newman the postman says hes calling in sick becasue its raining outside. haha.. then george freaks out and yells "what every happened to Neither rain, nor snow, nor... ITS THE FIRST ONE!" LOL Cant wait to see your new toy!! Lonnie
  21. i am contemplating drilling the lug holes through on my MBW16610.. drilling a noob case is one thing, but drilling a more expensive MBW case makes me nervous haha. If i had a proper drill press i would make a jig to drill these holes but i just use a cordless drill and just hold the case really tight, so theres a LARGE margin for error. Lonnie
  22. watch out for the nasty conical rehaut, incorrect date window placement, bad crown guards and not as good bracelet as the true "Noobmariner"... The end links on the Noob are made better. Rocsen is right, they are slightly differences between suppliers so make sure you look at the pics carefully and verify that you are getting the exact watch pictured. Lonnie
  23. i just recently changed all my passwords again. Im always getting those spoof emails but this one sounds serious... good find nanuq, I'll for sure keep my eyes open. Lonnie
  24. My crown guards are better than your crown guards!!!!!!! haha i am just joking.. Tribal does some some of the BEST work i have seen. I really like how your bezel insert sits super flat making the crystal look taller.. almost has a 1680 feel to it and i like it. I might have to try that sometime. Great looking watch! Lonnie
