  1. im just looking forward to the Angus sea-dweller with the Gen movement.. the one from King has too many big flaws. I really dont know how they could design a $2500 rep with gen 3035 movement and put in the wrong dial markers and hands?? seriously... I guess you could put in a gen dial and proper minute hand... I cant wait to see how badly they butcher the submariner rep with 3035 when it comes out.. Lonnie
  2. I had the same problem also when i tried to register months ago.. I never got an email... finally about a month later i found someone here thats a moderator over there and i PM'd him and he fixed it right away Lonnie
  3. Item number: 260161101728 Looks ok except no "Panerai" or engraving on them... if you check his other auctions you will see hes asking $195 plus shipping... pretty funny.. shipped from china of course Lonnie
  4. thanks!! i also believe that a brand new sparkling rep looks fake no matter how good it is. It needs a little wear and a few scratches and dings to look authentic. Drilling the lug holes through was an exercise in patience. It was a lot of work becasue i didnt have a vice or anything like that. You need to drill the holes from the inside at an angle.. but you need to drill at the PROPER angle otherwise the drill will come out in the wrong spot. I'm actually going to post a tutorial soon about how to do this so i can show everyone the exact angle to drill at. Lonnie
  5. ive reported many items that dont get shut down... ive never gone to check the feedback after though.. very interesting. Lonnie
  6. this is so exciting!! i cant wait to see the angus watch because this one is full of flaws. I wonder whats next? Submariner maybe? Vintage sub? woo hoo!! Lonnie
  7. ive got a gen airking for sale on folded oyster bracelet... ref 5700 airking date. rare vintage model from 1970-71 it was on ebay and i just pulled it becasue i didnt like the bidders feedback about not paying for items hes won... Lonnie
  8. not sure about the dial.. and the bright white hands sure dont match the dial markers... case and crown look correct.. its prob a regular 1680 with a aftermarket red dial and new hands. I'd wanna see some good documentation if i was paying an extra $5000 over and above a regular white sub. Lonnie
  9. Stephane, I can verify Cableguy as trustworthy (bought parts from him recently) if you guys are considering this swap. Lonnie
  10. ive got noobs and an MBW16610 franken with noob bracelet, noob dial, gen crown and tube etc etc.. It depends what you wanna spend. To build a MBW franken expect to spend $600+ not inc labour or major custom work If i was going to build another franken 16610 and didnt want to spend close to a grand to do it right, i would mod a noobmariner. As long as your noob has the straight rehault and not the conical rehaut then you have a great base to start with. The rehaut is the only thing that you cant fix on the case. Take your noobmariner, add a gen crown and tube, better bezel insert and better pearl.. you may need to replace the cyclops too.. i know on my noob the date mag isnt right at all. cost? about $350 give or take so about half the price. If you are concerned about the rehaut and want the best of the best franken rep then the MBW is the only option. Heres some pics of my Hardcore 16610 Noobmariner that i've been using as my practice mod watch. Its got lots done including lug holes drilled right through and gen 2mm springbars to look like a submariner from 1995 when they had both the lug holes and the solid end link bracelet Heavy wear and damage to case and bracelet.. Here are a few teaser pics of my MBW16610 i'm still working on.. i just got the gen tube countersunk, tapped and reinstalled yesterday... Noobmariner bracelet installed on MBW case Crown guards modded Noobmariner dial installed on ETA movement Gen Triplock crown and tube Dial is going to The Zigmeister soon for superlume Hope this helps Lonnie
  11. I have the stainless version in black dial.. so theres my answer Lonnie
  12. Cant wait to see those pictures!!!!!!!!! The Zigmeister is for sure the master! Lonnie

    MBW Rolex

The MBW is the only correct choice right now for a sea-dweller 1665 vintage. Proper case and accepts gen crystal. Hopefully Angus will have some news soon regarding the new sea-dweller they are working on... MBWs are avail here and on RWI from trusted collectors... they are about $350-400 shipped. Stay away from any other sea-dweller for now becasue the case is totally incorrect. You'll have to do a little more searching and reading to find the info you are looking for. Upgrading to VIP member status will open up new sections of the forum giving you access to trusted dealers and also access to the VIP rooms. Lonnie
  14. my tracking # said it was delivered to china 5 weeks ago but the collector says he has not received it, nor have i recieved any letters from Chinese customs.. are they that slow that it could still be sitting at customs in CHina??? Lonnie
  15. Dont forget the Noobmariner, the chinese super-sub.. and be sure to read about all the horror stories involving the daytonas with sec@6. BUT the new sec@3 (for the breitling Bently etc) was built properly according to our resident master watch maker The Zigmeister... You've got a LOT of catching up to do Lonnie
  16. I bought a faulty Daytona sec@6 back to Paul at Pam111 (trusted collector here) and it says it was "delivered" 5 weeks ago yet he says he never received it. I would never send another watch back to China. Thats TWO from Paul that I'm out $ on now. Never again. See the link in my signature for more info. Does anyone know what the tracking info will say if the watch was snagged by customs? Will it say "confiscated" or something?? Lonnie
  17. I think this is a great thing for the forum. A group buy is 'comfortable'. I have no interest in an Aquaracer so i wont be part of this group buy, but i just wanted to say i think this is a good idea. Congrats on your newly aquired dealer status TWP Lonnie
  18. very nice!! I'm gunna have to build a GMT soon. I think its the one rolex rep that i"ve never had. I would like to go vintage but they are just so darn small. I'll have to pick a year that i like and go from there. Excellent work! Lonnie
  19. i understand how you can fill the holes and file the down and polish them etc.. i just cant picture how you attach the pin to get the bracelet back onto the clasp after? Or have you mounted it perminantly now with no adjustment? Im assuming its similar to the clasp on a rolex submariner with the adjustment holes?
  20. Hey guys You know those 120page Rolex books you can get? They all seem to be in Japanese. Does anyone know if they are available in English and where i could find them? heres two examples on ebay but they are all in japanese I've been seeing them around for years but have never seen an english version. (other than the one on ebay now for $400 inc shipping to canada wow $400 for a book?) item # 160157218311 160157218494 Lonnie
  21. When looking at the watch from the side.. we are talking about where the hole for the crown and tube is drilled. on rep rolexes (submariners etc), the crown is in the center of the case or slightly lower closer to the caseback. On the gen rolex, the crown hole is closer to the top of the watch or the crystal. This all has to do with the position of the stem in the movement. have a look at the pics of this new yachty on kings website and you will see how high the crown is mounted on the case.. looks just like a gen to me. I believe the movement closest to this is the 2892 but they dont use it for whatever reason. But i dont think a 2892 will fit a gen rolex case... This sounds to me like they've finally copied the rolex movement and yeah if thats the case it will be expensive and then drop in price. i remember when the old goofy subdial daytonas were almost $1500 on websites.. yikes. Lonnie
  22. Not sure if i like it.. it looks like a blend of a bunch of parts from other supercars bolted together. Cars like the Veyron, Aston Martin and Lambos look sexy and unique.. this looks like a corvette/McLaren front, looks like a lambo from the side and has the doors off a GT40. But i guess thats what Shelby does.. they take regular cars, chop them up and make them faster. Lonnie
