  1. The 42mm choice has expanded again! along with several other options Puretime and other vendors are now offering the PAM 337 O Radiomir, a 1940 case and golden hands mark the dial while the Seagull movt. used in the new PAM 512 completes the watch. http://www.pure-time.com/product/pam337-o-radiomir-v6f-best-edition-on-brown-leather-strap-p999/ There seems to be a bit of confusion amongst the vendors as to the model, some call it a 338 while PT gets it right, with a SS case it is indeed a 337. The 338 is the same watch but with a Titanium case and every picture post I have checked shows a Stainless case despite the differing model number. I have placed an order and will post my thoughts once it arrives.
  2. The Pre-V buckle above is engraved, the seller also offers buckles with the "OP" logo, #"6", #"12", thumbnail and other, some in bronze even... all at a reasonable price point.
  3. Have you looked at fleaBay? I'm not sure how good these are but they might suffice depending on the watch: Submarines http://www.ebay.com/itm/24mm-New-SS-Submarine-Screw-In-Brushed-Watch-Bands-Clasp-Strap-Buckle-PANER-/161481066719?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item6b38c0aa2b http://www.ebay.com/itm/24-26mm-New-Submarine-Screw-In-steel-Brushed-Watch-Band-Strap-Buckle-P-A-N-/161347384214?pt=US_Watch_Bands&var=&hash=item6b3044489f http://www.ebay.com/itm/24mm-New-Screw-In-Stainless-steel-Brushed-Watch-Bands-Straps-Buckle-P-A-N-/310887715794?pt=US_Watch_Bands&var=&hash=item8e155e7ccc Pre-V http://www.ebay.com/itm/18mm-20mm-22mm-24mm-26mm-NEW-Screw-in-Watchband-Clasp-Pin-Buckle-Engraved-PANER-/161082937729?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item6b25fcc33d Seller has some other styles as well and multiple width options.
  4. Currently I have no basis for comparison, this is my first and only PAM, however I do have a 351 on the way and I can provide some side-by-side once it arrives. It is easy to wear and still a substantial timepiece measuring 51mm lug to lug, ~50mm incl. the CG. General FYI my watch shown above is the older version not the updated 393 which was just released; noticeable improvements with the updated version include the movement, date font, thumbnail buckle and screw in strap lugs rather than quick release. The cost has more than doubled, but now with this watch in my hand the differences are noticeable. My 393 is a very nice affordable watch but certainly not a super-rep, I will leave it to others to define the newest version.
  5. A few quickPix of my 393 from KW, I could not live with the tan calf strap so a nice leather was sourced from eBay seller "threadhunters" it feels good and looks good to me, you decide:
  6. Tried a nice piece of leather from North of the Cordovan on the new 393... much better than the tan IMO
  7. There is a RWG member whose signature says it all: "When I look at my watch the last thing that I see is the time..." I really liked that and hope I got the quote correct.
  8. Lazy afternoon by the pool DSSD required, never noticed until now that in the full sunlight the dark color barely shows...
  9. Very nice YM... I do love the colors on the Yacht Master, in fact I think that red seconds hand just might look great in a D-Blue DSSD.
  10. Personally I like the 393; a 42mm case is a welcome size addition to a line historically devoted to many larger cases. The new 393 is a very good looking rep especially with the brown strap, very gen-like. Storm tooper4 you should revisit PT and TT, both are offering a newer version in the correct size with an updated movement... although I'm not too sure about the dial color. Angus has done himself a disservice IMO by labeling the watch as a "Ladies" model... unisex maybe, but many if not most 393 buyers are males and putting potential buyers off with the gender attachment is a mistake. The gen is listed as a Mens watch. Now to see if they release the updated 392....
  11. DSSD. I have worn mine every day since it arrived and I was afraid it would be too large! however as big as it is, it wears easily with everything from suits to polos. Speaking as a lover of watches personally I would like the 1680 or a 5514 even... but they were not my first choice, it was only after getting bitten that I began to admire the vintage styles, your friend may or may not become an aficionado. He will however appreciate the unmistakable style of the DeepSea SeaDweller. (personal opinion yours may vary)
  12. I would likely reject based upon the sloppy lume work on the 12 and 1 markers, I don't see an issue with the numeral 12. FWIW.
  13. I have also found the YM appealing and started to seriously review models/makers, for an interesting perspective try reading the TC YM review, he points to several specific items that separate the TC from others... that gives you a reasonable set of parameters for instance in this case you might note the CG. BTW- both look fantastic, aesthetically I prefer the blue face the colors just work well together. JMHO.
  14. TT just listed the Heritage SuperOcean in both brown and black on rubber with deploy, very nice models.
  15. Thanks for all of the input, so far the 564 is preferred; the tobacco dial and distressed Leather are a great look unlike anything I currently wear, plus it has the benefit of being a new model so, just waiting for an answer from a TD now... @superlative: I looked for the 040 but could not find it available form the dealers listed, it is another nice looking Ti alternative, thanks for the mention.
  16. Thanks for that, I appreciate the opinion and the facts regards the tantalum... I was unaware and it is always good to learn.
  17. I'm looking for a first PAM... I want a smaller case so I have narrowed the choice to a 172 or 564. Both are Ti, personally I like the blued hands of the 172, but the 564 is newer and might be a better rep... choices need opinions, so please add yours. Googled Pix Below
  18. Very nice indeed, both watches look great with the swap.
  19. Me too, something like your HornBack... or other deep dark gator for the vintage effect. On that note: Can one of the new owners please post the lug size of the rep?
  20. No, the Gen is high gloss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKXVRL25vKI#t=81 Hands on here: http://www.ablogtowatch.com/omega-seamaster-300-master-co-axial-watch-hands/
  21. Ask Angus, but I agree I believe it is for pressure testing the case.
