Thanks for the review. I have looked at these at Watcheden. It is bigger than I expected! All in all, I think it looks decent for a 120 USD watch, but far from the quality we have been used to from the superreps.

Seems like it has surfaced at the cartel dealers also. Interesting to see that while PT have the usual Chineese 2836-2 clone, PerfectClones sells with a "Swiss" Insignia Nickle Plated Eta 2824-2. The nickle plated movement with decorated rotor is a good looker.

Nice comparison. I guess the difference in AR would be even more obvious with a darker dial.

I think it is a genuine, older model, 7750 powered. It has the Link bracelet and ETA-datefont. A bit strange that it does not have "Link" on the dial, but Tag Heuer changes their models pretty often. Nice watch!

Replicas of vintage Omegas are not everyday stuff.. The only one I can recall was a rather weird Seamaster "Omegamatic" which was around some years ago. Rather good replicas of the vintage Omega Seamaster 300 have been around on eBay and special dealers for some time, but this is the first time I have seen one at one of the main dealers! http://www.puretimewatch.com/index.php?categoryID=286 Classic Non-date version Date-version Caseback Dialfonts and caseback looks a bit odd, but the overall style is there. And, I guess they have used a Speedmaster case. At least the price seems rather good? There is an interesting guide for "How to spot a fake Vintage Seamaster" on eBay. Great review! I have the old SMP chrono, but your review really makes me want the new as well.. The overall finish on this actually looks to be even a bit better. I believe the "3303" on the rotor is the model number for the tri-compax movement used in the Broad Arrow among others. But, it does not really matter. Lokks better than a plain rotor.

Gorgeous watch. I actually prefer the display caseback version. It really shows off the finish. Here are my previous Speedmasters. A ca 1970 Mark II (861 movement), and a "reduced Speedmaster" (chrono module stacked on a 2892). At the moment I am without any Speedmasters. Great, chunky vintage piece.. A nice watch in its own, but too small for a chrono. Also, the stacked movement has a rather bad reputation. A replica Speedmaster reduced besides the genuine "Reduced Speedmaster". -

I bought that watch from Silix, it must be about four years ago. I think I made a review of it on the old RWG1 site. Actually, I liked it. Very different from most other replicas, and the head had a nice, heavy feel. It had cool backlight on the dial. The band and especially the clasp was cheap, though. Many gen owners have it on a Kevlar strap, though. It is not a very accurate replica. Besides the different digital display, it has a mix of styling clues from the first and second edition of the X-33. Anyway, they have got the basics right. I think most people, even watch geeks, have never seen a gen... I asked about the X-33 in my local Omega store some years ago when they were still available, but they had not heard about it.. To be honest, I never quite figured out how to use and set the digital part. It was quite complicated. I managed to set the alarm...but was unable to turn it off, so every day it went off at 5.50 PM. Be aware that it has two batteries, one each for the digital and analog part. One of the batteries are hidden. Here are some of my old pictures of it. I sold it, but it is one of few watches I miss once in a while.

Quite cool Seamaster, actually! Nice catch. It reminds me of the special Seamaster which was made for the Winter Olympic Games at Lillehammer in 1994.

Yes, the numbers on the bezel should be more of the "ETA- datefont type". Still, they match well with the font used for the U2-logo. From what I can judge from pictures, this font is correct for the U1. The gen U1 also has a flat crystal, while on the U2 it should be slightly domed. So, the U1 replica might be a bit closer to gen? Still, this is nit-picking. I tends more towards the U2. As for the hands, IMHO it is better with slightly longer hands than too short.

Nice comparison. Both look good actually. The 3717 beeing the more classy watch and the TG its outraging younger brother.. I have neither of them, but if I had to choose I would likely going for the Top Gun to complement my other chronos. For someone choosing one watch only, the 3717 might be a more versatile daily driver.. Just my 2c.

Thanks for the good review. It is posts like this thats makes the forum! The display caseback really shows of the nicely decorated movement. Shame about the rotor, but you cant have it all.. Stange that it is hard to adjust the date, though. It can be tricky sometimes. -
Thanks for the comments! I am a bit thilled about this one. The feeling reminds me of waiting for the arrival of my first expensive 7750 powered replicas... several years ago. You US guys have quite an advantage when it comes to purchase on the second hands marked. The watch was initially sold in Florida, according to the paperwork. I guess Rolex manufactured at least some of the bands for the US market in Mexico as well. I wonder..is "tuxedo dial" the same as "tapestry dial"?

This nice 1987 Rolex DateJust will hopefully join me in a few days. The seller just confirmed that he got the payment. Honest seller, I have dealt with him before. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=4688019&rid=0 The DateJust might not be "up there" with the cool tool watches; Submariner, GMT-Master, Explorer and Daytonas. Still, I think they are versatile true quality watches that might be good buys on the second hand marked. This watch comes with the original chronometer certificate and have a nice tapestry dial and coin edge bezel. A bit flashy, without any "tacky" gold. I quite like it. The ad had been out for some days, and the price dropped, until I had to jump on it. It is actually acrylic crystal on this one. the DateJust got sapphire crystal around 1988. But, it adds to a little vintage feel. Nice clean 3035 quickset movement. An interesting note is that the band is made in Mexico, under license from Rolex. I assume this was made to avoid taxes. I know Omega did this, but I was a bit surprised that a high-end brand that Rolex would have a band stamped with "Joske's"..! This is my forth gen Rolex, after a Speedking and two 6694 Oysterdates. It is about double the price of the OysterDate. I am working my way up the ladder! I have not bought a replica for some time. At the moment I am more tempted with gens. I always like to trade, and the domestic market for replicas in Norway is limited. Anyway, I think I will enjoy keeping this watch for myself. So, what do you think about the DateJusts, and this watch? There is not much reviews of the DateJusts. Perhaps because of all the variations and the lack of dedicated fans. I was actually considering to either get this or a vintage Omega Speedmaster Professional.. The dealbreaker was that the Lemania 861 movement can be bought in a vintage 400USD Tissot chrono, while this is a true in-house, chronometer certified Rolex movement. Still, I sure will get a true Moonwatch some day!

That logo is actually of the Swedish Air Force acro team "Team 60"! Here is a late 90ties Breitling Pluton with the same logo! Not a bad replica really..it is on par, or even better than todays Emergency replicas.
