  1. I've got a preference for 13oz Japanese selvedge, either from OneTrueSaxon, or Howies (both in UK).
  2. wow wow wow That Pam looks incredible, can't wait to see the finished article.
  3. Hi Scotty, not sure if this is of any help, but I was looking for a new deployment and came across some nice unbranded ones on this site stonecreekstraps.com (they advertise on 'risti). They look to be just sterile Panerai deployments, and at $28, the price is pretty reasonable. I've got one rep deployment, and it's falling apart, so I thought that I might try one of these, on the basis that it might well be better made, and I'm not overly bothered about the lack of name on it. I guess that, potentially, you could scavenge the spare parts that you need from one of these?
  4. Gen on left - rehaut, crown finish, bezel edges.......
  5. Well, I don't have one yet, but I've been hankering after an anthracite dial 089 for quite a while now, and this post has brought it right back to the top of my list :-)
  6. Great review, thanks! I've never heard of them before either, but I have to admit that's quite an intriguing watch, may have to pick one up..... Actually, how much are we talking for a gen?
  7. Thanks for the heads up Nanuq Yup, got my eyes on these.............as have many others here I suspect
  8. My wife will hate you...........I feel myself being irresistably drawn to these MMD's..........$1500 would be a steal, wonder if anybody here would be lucky?
  9. Trusty Watch Boys (TWB) do a range of straps in that size, they don't have a web site, but you can find them over on paneristi, in the accessories section............think they post as Kurt......
  10. You've maybe tried this already, but is it possible that someone has replaced the screw with panerai-style springbars? You know, the ones that look like a normal screw head at one end and pin at the other? Again, apologies if I'm pointing out the obvious; and if you've already tried this, and that isn't the answer, then the only other answer would be that the thread has stripped prof
  11. That's brilliant! I'm truly jealous of your skills.........and what a great way to unwind, immersing yourself in miniature machines Now, if you ever want to sell that......
  12. That's an inspired combo Lani , I don't think I've ever seen a strap from Aaron that I don't like. It's loud, yes, but just the right sort of loud (dammit, will have to add to my list)
  13. Wow, what an incredible post :1a: It's posts like this that not only make my jaw drop, (given the stupendous amount of thought and effort that must go into producing a post of this quality), but also make me recognise how lucky I was to find this place - best forum, bar none! It's also quite humbling.... .......I really need to get my act together and give something back to this community......I'll resolve to start posting some of what I've bought, and learned, over the past year or so.
  14. This one? http://stores.ebay.co.uk/finestboxes or this one? http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Uhrenbeweger-Shop :)
  15. Well, quite unbelievably, my two crystals appeared today - they haven't been coated, not even removed from the packaging that I sent them in, but at least I have them back The envelope that they were returned in was posted from Poland on the 28th October, and Jakub has hand-written his usual address in one corner, but no note of any sort inside to explain.............not that I expected one, but I guess it would have been nice. I hope that this offers some hope that all goods will eventually be returned. Now, just need to see when Chief's doing another AR run.....
  16. Great find Chris.........wish I'd been paying attention the last few days, I would have snapped one of these up! Can't believe I missed this. If any of you guys get tired of your nice new toy in a month or so, let me know and I'll happily take it off your hands
  17. I think that the member pic that you're referring to is Pugwash's pic of his white-face SOSF from PT - great pic, it inspired me too.........currently have my SOSF on a tan strap, but the brown croc from Angus is due any day now
  18. I can't help but agree with all the previous comments, and compiling a list of who has what with J may well be of use, if, and when, he returns to this hobby. I've used J's service since the start, and his initial approach and communication were exemplary, although the work always seemed to take a couple of weeks longer than predicted, and shipments took weeks to arrive, (in one case 5 weeks!), but I was prepared to disregard these minor issues as nuisance and no more, since the quality of the work was so good, particularly the latest AR which is fantastic. However, since the end of July his communication has gone from replies within hours, then days, then, after the first week in August, nothing. Without wanting to become a 'detective' here, it seems that the announcement of a death in the family seemed to be in September, so it's puzzling that so many members suffered communication issues some weeks previously - giving the benefit of the doubt, it's conceivable that the family member suffered from a terminal illness and this contributed to the drop in communication. Like many have said before, the death of a family member is totally devastating, and the attendant emotional journey can, for some, lead to severe depression, and a withdrawal from normal social interaction - if this is the case with J, then I wish him well. My final thought is that it might be of more use to the members if we could find some way to arrange a group buy (of crystals) through one of our dealers? It's a long shot, I know, but if there's enough of us with similar requirements, then it's worth a shot, no? I'll kick off with what I have at J's: 1xUPO crystal 1xSOH crystal PS - I nearly caved yesterday and bought a gen PO crystal (
  19. Dave, that's heartbreaking, I'm truly sorry to hear of your loss. As many others have said, time will eventually heal your loss, and you'll remember the good memories.
  20. Hi there, and welcome to the best forum I'm in the overpopulated, over-priced South East.......
  21. Hi, and welcome from the UK! I lived in Breckenridge for a couple of years back in the mid 90's, fantastic place, wonderful friendly folks - would move back in an instant if I could.
  22. Wow, that's incredible! ..why didn't I think of that?
  23. Wow, that's a fantastic watch t! Another one to add to my list......
