  1. It changes on a daily basis, but today it looks like this: Reps Pam 187 Pam 183 Pam 239 APROO Safari Ingy SOSF white dial Gens Steinhart Nav. B-Uhr Steinhart Triton MKII Sea Fighter Long list, (and an even longer strap list!), but I'll whittle it down to a couple of reps and one gen...........probably all change tomorrow though
  2. @rodwc - We're not worthy .....truly, you are the Bezelmeister Seriously though, a big thanks for clarifying the bezel mounting system, and how to mod it to remove the slop @cbr - I've also been to my local AD, and I must admit I'm very close to buying the gen, (just need to convince the wife), however I do agree that with k222/chieftang double AR and a The Zigmeister lume it would be up there as a super-rep. Had planned to pick up a gen rubber strap and dep buckle in the near future, but having a hard time trying to justify (to myself) spending
  3. Hmm, good article, and some well presented ideas and interpretations.............as for me, I can't get past 44 on Freerice
  4. Hi all, Well, I recently received my long awaited Superocean Heritage..........and wow, stunning, what a watch!! But, there was a slight flaw, so I returned the watch to my dealer, and after inspecting it he informed me that he doesn't actually consider this to be a flaw, but he is willing to swap it for another. The problem is that the bezel has some 'play' in it - you can move it about 1-2mm about the horizontal plane, i.e. if you have the watch sat flat in your hand, face up, then apply light pressure to the side of the bezel, it moves. Now, I realise that there are differences from brand to brand in how a rotating bezel might feel, at least in terms of the simple mechanical resistance, but I would expect that essentially they would all share common design elements, at least insofar as the bezel mechanism is concerned; this is certainly true of my UPO and noobmariners. So the question is, is it just me? Am I missing something here, or is this how the Heritage should feel? If yes, then it's not a flaw that I can live with, and I'll be asking for a different watch from my dealer as a replacement.
  5. Graduate Mechanical Engineer, currently working in the agricultural industry as Quality Manager for new product development & launch for vehicle platforms.................but I used to work the winter seasons in the mountains of Europe and USA, which was way more fun
  6. There was an unbranded one for sale on paneristi recently - sorry I can't recall the sellers name, but it was within the last 7 days. BTW, my 'branded' bracelet from PT fits my DSN 111h perfectly
  7. Awesome review SD4000 , totally hooked on this watch - played with a gen in an AD about 4 weeks ago, and it's just such a classy design, really, really nice............really, really want one.
  8. Really hope so, that's the one I'm waiting for
  9. Last day out for this one, tomorrow it's off to the watchsmiths to have a new dial fitted (courtesy of rocket754). So Wednesday I think it'll be the 111, this time on an unusual rubber strap.
  10. Currently Torchwood and Damages, but eagerly waiting for season 2 of Heroes to air on UK telly. Also a big fan of Grand Designs and Ski Sunday, not that they're really a series as such....although they are weekly shows
  11. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow - brilliant!
  12. Great review Lani! It's certainly a very impressive watch, and judging from your review, a very well executed rep..........but much as I admire it, that lever is holding me back. I really like Graham's, and their slightly quirky look, but I'm waiting for a Swordfish - hopefully they can produce one that's up to current 'super-rep' standards, and preferably in black cheers, prof
  13. Hi folks, Bit of a stupid question, since it should be simple, but I've tried pushing in the button in the centre of the strap (between the lugs, on the wrist side), but it's either a fake button, or not working, and the strap won't come off. I've applied light pressure (don't want to scratch anything) to the ends of the springbars/pins that can be seen on the outside of the lugs, but these don't appear to want to move either. If anyone here knows the secret, I'd love to know.........although it'll probably make me feel like a fool cheers, prof
  14. That bracelet rocks, Lani! My Slevin should be in my sweaty palms within the hour...........the anticipation's killing me
  15. Fantastic watch! First Bretling that I really, really want Love that rubber racer strap DuDro!
  16. Ok, I know it's a bit of a mish-mash, but I really like it. Yes, it should be 46/47mm if it's a Top Gun, and have the red planes on the end of the second hands, but in size (and ignoring the caseback), it's pretty close to the 2006 ceramic doppel chrono. If Angus is really selling them, and not just testing the water, then I may well buy one
  17. I'm not actually ordering a watch, just trying to get a couple of spare pins for a strap, but I've sent two emails this week, and had two responses, both within 24hrs - which was nice.
  18. Been thinking about them for a couple of weeks - does that count?
  19. Wow, what a cool shot!! Three of my favourite things, snow, mountains and an awesome watch
  20. Ok, well the first part is pretty easy, 1. the ship type is a CVS
  21. Must be your lucky day, I have an Engineering degree, B.Eng (Hons), and I'd be only to happy to help a fellow enthusiast.......but I think it would probably be best if you sent the camera to me first so that I could master it before imparting this wisdom to you Great collection by the way, really like the Genta row and the 'ZPO' prof
  22. Great work Jawo! I nearly went down that road myself, even got sucked in to the fake review sites as well, but, as BobM has already said, something didn't quite ring true. After another couple of months of looking I was fortunate enough to stumble upon the 'old' RWG, and then here.
  23. Hi mate, welcome to the best forum - hope you've got deep pockets and an understanding wife/gf cheers, prof
