  1. No I have not! This caliber is strange and continues to elude me. I have searched more information on this high and low and got nowhere.
  2. Looking good T! (And good to see you man!) Great case work, CGs look excellent. What did you wind up going with for dial and hands? I have a JKF COMEX SD on its way to me on some banana boat, somewhere. Hopefully it's JKF anyway. Was the dial spec 28.5mm? Where did you find the vintage bezel and was it a direct fit or need modding?
  3. Oh my!! 35 lambos into the ocean hurts. And that rare prelude. That is one hell of a long list. So many cars!
  4. Holy crap! I started this thread almost 15 years and 500 pages ago!!! 🫣 Ok back on topic- crooked.. MARKER
  5. Wow, sorting by new the latest listing is over 5 years old dated 2018.
  6. That's awful. Is this place cursed?

    Thank you.

This is a nice thread, I like watching your little journey. You have definitely been bitten. I think it's ok to leave those rolex hallmarks on rather than scuff your dials up. It's obvious you are doing this for yourself and not to brag or pretend you're something else to others. I have always enjoyed reps for just that purpose, me. They also were a doorway into a watchmaking career, starting out just like you have. I have tried to purchase the gens of the watches I liked as reps.. to varied levels of satisfaction. The worst part of gen ownership for me, was the service and support. They sell you stories of perfection, but after the purchase when they should really shine they do anything but. I have had to do my own repairs after many service centers failed to meet their mark, including TAG, Breitling, and Rolex. RSC NY was the worst, followed closely by Breitling. All of this reaffirms my commitment to being the type of watchmaker that fills the gap they leave in terms of attention to detail and turnaround time- their two biggest problems. So what's next for you? I have recently decided to play around with a cartel comex SD which I have on the way. I was itching for a vintage project that wouldn't break the bank or need to be taken too seriously.
  8. Im so sorry for Bobs family first and foremost, and the forums enormous loss as well. Bob always talked about his family, and he had my deepest respect. Bob was an exceptional person, always kind and inclusive. He made me feel at home here. I enjoyed going back and forth with him about where was more dangerous to live, Alaska VS Florida. There was always something really funny to be said there, guaranteed to crack us up. I'm sure he is already harassing the bears in heaven, or vice versa. Seeing another one of the old school guard gone is truly heartbreaking and frankly, startling. Time waits for no man. I'm glad Bob kept track of his with a double red, he always raised the bar.
  9. Keep it up! What's everyone been up to? Working hard here... Just finished a Pam pxxxx clone repair... Next on the bench probably another sub of some sort... Its weird to look back at how absolutely busy this forum used to be now Reddit looks to be taking over the forum game. These last 15 years definitely feel like 30 on my mind body and soul. The past two years with the infighting over politics/elections and covid have been absolutely exhausting.
  10. This forum isn't exactly bursting with content or members yet here you two go running off the one guy that's posted in the past few days. 😄🤷‍♂️
  11. I'm not sure what to believe anymore.
  12. It doesn't look bad. But that said I understand where you're coming from. All of the rep dials are too dark. Hell the latest BP vintage are a dark burnt orange. After so many years of progress it seems like things took a huge step back. Can't even get a basic sub or vintage sub or any of the common pam models anymore. Here's a thought... Order a white non patina version. By the time it arrives via 4PX it will be vintage and the month or two of shipping (for $35) inside a container ship at 200 degrees will provide for a perfect patina lume.
