  1. Nothing wrong with Beethoven and Mozart, I love classical music. Today however Number One Girlfriend has finally figured out how to use the kitchen music server. Only took four years? So we are doing LOUD. One of the great things about living where we do is we can have the music so loud the windows vibrate and we can do it day and night.
  2. Hello and welcome to our community. It’s a nice collection you are putting together there, keep us posted and please feel welcome to join in current threads
  3. Ask Nightwatch, I would guess your easiest way forward would be to get a Molnija movement holder. I can’t say what he would be prepared to do for you, swap the item, swap the movement holder or sell you a replacement holder. He is a very helpful and passionate guy though so I would ask there first
  4. No, but one has a Seiko dial, it solves the lume problem quite nicely
  5. One? Phahf! I’ve got six, two with the Scuba Dude on the dial. Froma technical point of view it is greatly under appreciated http://forums.watchuseek.com/f54/vostok-amphibia-analysis-design-methodology-491757.html
  6. All good stuff there’s Sixx. I first saw AC/DC in ‘81 when I had unblemished skin Skid Row and Mötley Crüe I think I had one brave little skull and crossbones.?
  7. It will be about one in a hundred that notices your watch and one in a hundred of them that can tell it is a rep. If that happens, be sure to say “hello brother”, because it is likely to be one of us.? Wear it for your own pleasure and have a great birthday
  8. I can’t say I have heard of them, but experience tell me you are not going to get a watch that looks like this for a hundred quid. The gap on the SELs on that watch are perfect. I’m betting they are using pictures of genuine watches. I looked a bit further, it isn’t a genuine watch, but I also doubt it is what you will get. I’m guessing the pictures have been manipulated to make the watch look better than it is. A hundred quid Rolex with Miyota movement is never going to look that good. Also the rotor is likely to be noisy. I think most like if you receive a watch at all, it will be of the kind of quality you get from DHGate for $50-100
  9. I agree on that one, a straight on picture is a reasonable request for QC or even a M2M sale
  10. Your call on that one, but I wouldn’t, the next one might have a defect that isn’t as easy to fix.

  12. You too buddy
  13. I dug this out of the depths
  14. I haven’t tried just sliding it round, but I have removed inserts and replaced them in a better alignment and warming the bezel with a hairdryer or heat gun, does help soften the glue. Be careful, ceramic inserts are brittle, if sliding works it would definitely be safer than trying to remove it.
  15. I think I warned you at the time about sticking with Trusted Dealers??? I hope it gives you no more problems though
  16. Stone, I travel. I know you have taken some incoming over the last few months and I saw the gentlemanly and open way you responded. A credit to you, I still hold the faith brother. JMB V1, My Christmas wish
  17. A brother just PMd me pictures of a case from her and I’m impressed, very impressed
  18. Oh, sorry, I could have sworn it was you, but now you mention it I’ve never seen you post a Daytona build. Later on I will go hunting and see if I can dig anything up. It was pretty useful
  19. Runs in my mind that @occb2 I think it was him, published a long list of brands known to use V72 some time ago
  20. Happy Thanksgiving guys
  21. http://www.pf-818.com/r41djs-705-116334-ss-ss-fluted-oyster-blue-sticks-sa-3136.html This one is the odd one out, it has the true clone of the Rolex movement. All the others are Chinese 2836 with deco plates. Honestly I think the factories make it as hard as possible to sort out which movement they are using. Why name them all so similarly otherwise. There is nothing wrong with the Chinese 2836, other than the crown being slightly lower than gen. I personally dislike deco plates, especially as in order to fit them to some reps, they make the case deeper than gen. so for a bit of theatre behind a closed case back that isn’t going to fool anyone, they add a very obvious fault to the case. Mutter, mutter. Having said all that, I wouldn’t refuse a watch simply because it had deco plates
  22. When I moved here I rigged up a music server in the kitchen and tend to just leave it running. The kitchen is kind of out on a limb and away from the rest of the house. I just went in to have some tea, as I walked in HIM - Vampire Heart. Then 2cellos are a couple of guys from Serbia and not only fun to listen to and watch, but very talented musicians. I’ve seen them live and highly recommend the experience As I left the kitchen, St James Infirmary was playing And just because...
  23. One out of three, need more field work. Sláinte actually means Health and is used in the sense of drinking to the others health. The English “cheers” really means “thank you” as in thanks for buying the drink, though informally it can be used as thank you for other things between friends. It is often followed by “good health”. Craic really means fun and is often used as a greeting “How’s the craic”. A good answer is “Divil a bit” meaning “not much”. It’s sometimes amusing when asked of English speaking foreigners, since craic is pronounced crack, so “How’s the crack, love?”? Yes not many Irish are fluent, most adults were totally put off it at school, but the current children, mine included speak it reasonably well. I know bits and bats, but I’m only a Plastic Paddy, being born in England and having more than one nationality.
  24. Puretime have a sister site for sales like that. www.watchoutlet01.com I will have a look at the links a little later, I’m a bit busy right now. Damn job getting in the way of hobbies???
  25. Stick around, in eighteen months you will be helping new guys unravel this ball of string.
