Modding the cartel vintage Daytona's for proper sub-dial spacing.
Sogeha replied to chiman12's topic in The Rolex Area
@lelloarena The OP @chiman12 is still around, so if he still has the pictures maybe he could load them straight to the forum. Unfortunately a lot of forums lost pictures in threads when Photobucket changed it’s policies and not everybody had backups of their pictures elsewhere. Try looking at some of @rolojack‘s vintage Daytona builds as well. -

That is incredibly generous of you Bart, a gentleman! I think I’m going to try using the explorer dial to make a kitchen clock.

I didn’t know about this:- https://monochrome-watches.com/imitation-is-the-sincerest-way-to-get-sued/

Hmm, experience might be pushing it, but myself and a few other guys here have modded Seikos, I’ve also done Vostok and Sub type watches. Actually I am in the early stages of commissioning some gilt homage dials for a group on another forum I’m on. https://www.ebay.ie/itm/BULOVA-ROYAL-OAK-GENTS-QUARTZ-WRISTWATCH-c1980s-MOD-REF-C897185-MINT-COND/391923403312?hash=item5b40748a30:g:I1QAAOSweM1Z8gr6 Also I just found an old company called Astromaster made a Royal Oak like model. I know nothing about them, but could be worth a few minutes research for you

I saw something very reasonable looking for pocket money on Aliexpress, other than that you could hunt down one of the old Bulova’s, but I think they go for about $1000 now. Something you could consider is buying a straight out replica and removing the AP logo from the dial. The holes and empty space could then be covered by a logo of your own design from egologo. Not a straightforward “buy and wear”, but it could be a fun project and give you a nice and very personal watch Updated with pictures

Hello and welcome to the forum, If you are worried about being called out on wearing a fake and going places you worry about having a genuine watch stolen, may I suggest a Seiko? After all if you are wearing a rep that is “1:1”, How is a mugger to know it is not real? You could get your genuine arm ripped off, get shot or stabbed anyway. I suggest you read a little more and see if this hobby is for you, as your interest in “fake” watches and reason for owning them does not appear to be at all similar to that of our membership, most of whom know 1:1 AAAAA+ Swiss replicas do not exist and collect replicas for their own pleasure, without giving a hoot about being called out.

I spoke to Sixx over the weeekend, it will be on it’s way to Germany today or tomorrow

If that bracelet isn’t genuine, I want to know where I can buy one.

On one of my regular peregrinations to Poland my tight-fistedness came to the fore and I decided to avoid the motorway through Normandy and take the backroads. Passing war cemetery after war cemetery after war cemetery was actually quite heartbreaking. And don’t even get me started on the number of combat vets on the streets. It is an outrage

What's so bad about the Cartel 5512/13 bezel assembly?
Sogeha replied to e30m3's topic in The Rolex Area
Absolutely. Two different opinions from two members whose opinion I have great respect for, but that is okay, it’s how we grow our knowledge base. Thank you gentlemen both -

@occb2 a very informed and informative post as usual. It’s always a pleasure to see you here -
Sorry, I have not heard of that brand and Google provided no information. I have a few watches probably roughly contemporary with that one that I can’t find any information on. During that period, lots of small companies bought in movements and cases and produced limited numbers of watches. As @alligoat says, finding out about the movement might tell you something useful
-
Thank you? Glad you like it here
-
No I can’t either now. I looked yesterday or the day before and it was there then. @Admin, Did you change something Boss?
-
I think you are more likely to find someone who knows something on your Watch U Seek thread than you are here. As far as I know Orient serial numbers aren’t as simple to decode as Seiko ones. It looks like it could do with a clean though. Welcome to the forum, if you have any interest in replica watches, this is the place to be

Availability of a suitable movement. If the sub dials aren’t in the right place on the available movements, then they won’t be on the right place on a rep using those movements. I doubt Speedy reps sales warrant a clone movement, so thinks probably won’t get better anytime soon.

I think you missed a zero my friend. You also forgot to mention that there is some personalisation to the case back, which obviously detracts from the value?
