  1. If you get used to using the search function you can find all kinds of information, like this thread that shows @rolli is a member here and you could just PM him?
  2. Had to do a google search for the toxic dials. Skulls, quelle suprise!
  3. Hmm, $350 for a dial changes things quite a bit. I think I have only seen MQ Daytona dial prices, which are much more expensive. Perhaps I shall have to look into this myself as well
  4. Well the dials described as refinished are mostly not refinished at all. They are often pure replica though generally pretty good replicas. If you are using all genuine parts, you might be better stretching to a genuine dial. A service dial is a realistic option and a Minh dial is likely to cost around $1000 anyway.
  5. Hello and welcome to our community. I'm glad to see you have decided to become a contributing member and look forward getting to know you. As for your geographical conundrum, you are not alone, I live in Ireland, but I'm English.
  6. Ciao e benvenuto. It would help greatly if you told us exactly what model you hope to build and then we can advice better. Minh' dials are very good, but there is some variation and attention to QC pictures is a good idea. Depending on what you want to build there may well be better. However anything significantly better than MQ dials would be virtually impossible to buy especially if you don't already have some strong contacts. Oh and TC isn't updating his website anymore so it is best to contact him via the forums. I believe he is a member here.
  7. Ciao e benvenuto, If you like franken builds, you have come to the right place.
  8. Bank robber. (Don't need google, I've got their CD)
  9. Indeed you guys are very welcome to spend time here while the RWI team fix their issues, I hope you like it here are you are still welcome here once normal service resumes on RWI. The only thing better than belonging to one great forum, is belonging to two?
  10. Welcome to our community I hope you enjoy your time with us and of course you are very welcome to stay and join in even once RWI fix their current issues, we don't mind dual citizenship one little bit?
  11. Nice catch, thank you for sharing.
  12. Welcome to our community. I think it will not be hard to find friends here.
  13. Welcome to our community, enjoy your time with us
  14. The way I look at watches like this is you can either build a franken or buy at the top end from a very reputable seller. If you do the former, you have a convincing watch you can wear, the later is a watch I doubt many would be comfortable wearing and buying anywhere else in the market is likely to be paying well over the odds for a franken anyway. Same goes for COMEX subs
  15. How can anyone make derisory comments to a man with a C124? I have a 320 coupe that I bought in Cornwall six years ago. A deal which involved a late night, a bottle of wine, a flight, hotel, ferry trip and a mere 900 mile journey. Once sober it wasn't quite as cheap as i thought??? Lovely car though and not for sale this lifetime.
  16. I think you are probably not wrong. Didn't Dbane say the same thing. That in his opinion Phong cases were a little better worked than Tonnywatches, hence the pric difference.
  17. Welcome to our community. I'm delighted you are taking time to read and hope you greatly enjoy your time here
  18. Seikos are not cheap POS, even the cheap ones are good watches, just built down to a price. Start spending $1000 on a Seiko and there are some great watches. As for Grand Seiko, very few true WIS as opposed to watch snobs, would look down on one of those.
  19. Hello and welcome to the community. First, Nota Bene. All reps have faults/tells. Having said that a TC is very good out of the box and can be made better. I very much doubt any of those fancy people you work with could tell. Members here could, an Authorised Dealer could and a really knowledgeable and serious Rolex enthusiast just might. However all of us would have to see it quite closely. After a while looking at enlarged pictures online one tends to forget how small a watch is from five feet away.
