Well these decisions are personal, individual and often ruled by the heart. Maybe the earlier model will be better when you come to sell. Perhaps keep a picture of both on your desktop for a while and see which you are most drawn to. Buy the one you want and don't feel the need to justify the purchase to others.

TC has stopped his blog. Speculation is that it is because he has started selling his own brand watches or because having a blog makes him too obvious a target for legal action. Neither are absolutely proved. In the meantime he can be reached by PM. Alternatively there are a number of CONUS based watchsmiths within the forum who could doubtless rectify this issue. In truth it is maybe due for a service strip down about now anyway.

Why not consider a good leather strap if you are just buying time until you get your gen bracelet back?

First of welcome to the forum and please keep us updated on your journey. I probably know less than you about Day Dates, so I will leave the advice to others. There are a couple of guys I can think of who are known for modding these and both are Stateside, there are also a few guys in the US who would be able to help with repairs.

Guys this picture thread is clearly generating interest and desire, any of you fancy having a go at some build threads? I certainly see Pam builds in my future and would like to read about some builds.
