You have no idea how great that picture is to a new guy. I searched high and low for something that gave an oversight of vintage Pams a couple of months back. I know three of the guys you name and they are not only really good at their craft, but really terrific guys as well. I've heard good things about Black Shark and Pratt, but don't know much about them. Fancy doing a build thread on that beauty? Yes please, pretty please? I have a nasty nasty feeling this is going to cost me money before the year is out. I've already spoken to Bigwaved about buying some dials down the line. Trouble is it starts out real innocent. I wanted a Rolerai, but then I wanted the 6154, then I wanted cream, brown and near black dials, and then........

A few times I seen a dial with holes in it, in fact there was one in wristies this week. I believe I've heard it called a depth dial. Would that mean that it is actually a fantasy dial based in the dial in the Panerai depth gauge? I haven't really been able to find out anything, it seems those who know, know and those who don't, don't. Was it ever used in a genuine vintage Panerai?

Yes guys please give us Panerai noobs a 101 on vintage builds

Nice Soxa mate. You built a blue Fifty Five yet?

Oh I've got worse than that in reserve. They all laughed when I said I wanted to be a comedian, they aren't laughing now.

Spent my late childhood every summer on Crantock Beach. Swimming, surfing, poking rock pools and ogling girls in bikinis. Funny I remember it as a huge expanse of beach. A few years ago I bought a car in Newquay and drove it to Crantock for old times sake, it must have shrunk, it's a tiny little cove.

Hmm. I was born 90 miles from Scarborough.

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure the guys will be delighted to see your progress reports on modding and give you some excellent tips along the way. As a fellow Brit I have to remind you that you can't be more than 70 miles from the sea in the U.K., which is almost a sea view for some of our members.

Rolex Datejust Rep Gap Between Case And Bracelet
Sogeha replied to Jet_3rd's question in Questions & Answers
Rolex always look good on a quality leather strap. Could be one option -
I remember that thread, I wanted those parts, but couldn't find the money at the time. Anyway for what it is worth, here it is, it was withdrawn but if he would part with them I know they would have a good home with you. https://rwg.cc/topic/186002-withdrawn-high-end-milsub-parts-dial-hands-bezel/#comment-1483819

Need a touch more work on the crown guards, it's really spoiling it for me.

'Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will find lots of information and if there is something specific you can't find, our members will help you. As @Nanuqsays, we have no problem with having another possible source for straps, should you wish. All we ask is that you play fair with us and we will play fair with you. -
Welcome to the community. I indeed hope this turns out to be the perfect place for you. If nobody responds to your request for a Blackbird over the next day or so, you are welcome to place a wanted advert.

Welcome to our community. I like to think we make up for in quality what we lack in size. Very happy to have you onboard

I wasn't here back in the day but I read threads from google search long, long before I signed up. It's always good to see a long time member resurface. Welcome home.

The models with none functional dial at six are the best in terms of correct sub dial placement and case thickness. We don't really have a great choice of substitute mechanisms for Daytona reps. There are rumours that the factories are working on a clone movement, but rumours are not always reliable and we will have to see if anything materializes and if so how reliable it proves to be. Are you looking for the current model 116500 or something from the back catalogue? It would pay you to read a few threads on the model you are interested in, there is a ton of information.

Are you wanting information on the model or are you looking to buy one?

Yesterday I couldn't see wristies, which I could still view on my email. Today I can't see any sales either. I thought Nanuq was breaking the bad news to me gently. -
You made the jump successfully. Welcome back brother

I have a guilty little secret. I wander round to the friends too, but I'm glad you call this home.

Ah now it is clear. You said movements were hard to find and I was thinking they use 2824 don't they. Now I understand The Seiko Bullhead movement is hard to find.

Thanks for that post. It's useful to have in the archives. You have no idea how long it took me to dig up that information, piece it together and begin to understand it.
