  1. Chevall - CLICK HERE for Rolex Inside + Aftermarket Parts
  2. On the winning side(s) --- Stratton.. D'Isney.. Du Val... and a few of those annoying Norwegians...
  3. These are NOT British stats... they are mostly US, from a long time ago... Speaking of a long time ago... I had family on all three sides in 1066...
  4. I could swear 9 & 3 look like they are rotated about 1/2 a degree... I think it is the camera angle with 1 though, making the "boat" tail look like is listing toward 2. Of course, if you listen to me too much, I'll only end up driving you nuts with minutiae...
  5. uhh... wanna trade your collection for my GMTSBGM001?
  6. I like it. Or, at least I can tolerate it well. 1, 3 & 9 are slightly twisted. So am I. (Actually 1 might be the camera angle...)

    ~ I

Yeah, I love any Rolex bracelet, especially old rivet Rolex bracelets myself... but you'll hear a bunch of pansies cry about them pulling hair too... I just put a new Rolex Oyster on my work beater Invicta Mako... The Invicta bracelet was nice, felt a little heavier, and the clasp didn't last a week at work... the Oyster isn't really that much lighter, but it FEELS lighter and wears much better, even though the Invicta is basically a high quality copy of the same thing... Much more comfortable over the course of a long day at work. And I don't how Rolex does it, or what the real engineering difference is, but I DO KNOW, it works for me. Of course, having a decent movement is a nice thing too... Something a few newer Omega Swatches have been falling down on...
  8. Hey, you just happened to mention two Seiko's that I have in my collection, so I told everyone a little about them... and yeah, I've been thinking about picking up a couple more for gifts... for those who've commented on them. I've been thinking on what I would like to add to my collection from Japan as well... but that question gets harder almost every day... really depends on how caught up I can get before you take off... Maybe a Seiko Prospex or Orient Star diver....
  9. Nice watches... for those that don't know think classic 37mm for the Spirit and big 42mm diver for the Samurai... both are nice 23J movements, but the weirdly reversed thing is the Samurai (diver) doesn't hack, but the Spirit (dress watch) does. The Samurai also doesn't wind manually. I might be interested in picking up one or two ...
  10. The watch brand Heinrich Geisen 1896 has been in existance for 6 years (in 2004, the date of the website). Named after his granddad (and maybe Granddad's birthday), and the owners name is... Wolfgang Schumacher Br
  11. The Salesperson is incorrect, as the GTXL 2007 is only offered with the "Slate" silver two level dial. There are, of course, 2007 pieces in Stainless Steel (ref: 168489.3001) and only 500 in 18k Rose Gold (ref: 161268.5001). The MM 2005 was Stainless Steel with a white dial (168994.3001), the MM 2004 was Stainless with black dial (168954.3001), etc. etc. Yes, the white dial screams REP. (But, I say this ONLY because you asked)
  12. Basically it says: NEW PILOT WATCH!!! Here is the new pilot watch from Heinrich Geisen 1896. Wanted by many, the watch is also available without signature in a special series of 50 pieces. The watch uses a Durowe 7420 movement, and sapphire glass. On black or brown strap with rivet. The diameter of the watch is 42mm. Housing is matt perlage engraved. The price
  13. They ALL go through customs... whether or not they get to you depends on whether or not they are opened. Whether or not the EMS site actually records the info, or even has the info reported back to it in a timely matter is a different thing entirely.
  14. That means the package got to customs, and left customs and has continued on it's way to you.... ... with an Anti-terrorist Task Force... Merry Christmas.
  15. Yes an amazing 2 year climb to the top of the horological heap... This is one of my favorite "moderns"... The DW 6005 movement is in fact based on the ETA/VJ 7750 ebauche, in this model without the hours counter.. and the first ones to be produced have a chemical etched rotor, much like this rep... later ones are supposed to have a skeletonized version, I haven't seen that version in the flesh yet. This is a VERY nice rep, I see no really major issues. This might just be a proper "Super Rep", but I can't say from the crappy photos. It looks like it stands a chance at being a better rep than the SFSO... BTW... Has anyone seen the Roger DuBuis Excalibur JFK yet?
  16. That would be the ones with the $0.60 worth of ceramic that sells by itself for $800....
  17. BTW.... I want the Roamer and the Zodiac when you're tired of them...
  18. Danke Vic, Maybe Hammie thinks it's a bit small? Or feminine? I don't know... but just to clear up any possible confusion for the youngsters out there... the "standard Man's watch" has not always been 50mm+. Although it has been before, usually when carried in a pocket. My own opinions on why some watches are way overpriced and oversized for what they are, would be better left alone to avoid painting true watch lovers (regardless of taste) with the brush of "over-compensation for some inadequacy" by accident. I don't have those problems, and my wrists make Panerai look small. So, here is a comparison picture of some vintage watches so that there is some form of scale for those who need it... ... these are ... Large Man's Rado - Man's Helbros - Man's Elgin (on a dive watch) - Lady Elgin (note the size) - Man's Croton Aquamatic And again, Merry Christmas to all... EDIT: AH! So, Ham does think it looks like a "girls" watch... so, since we've seen the difference between a Men's and Lady's Vintage Elgin... let's see how much of a real difference there is between the "Men's" and Lady's Assholaroma... Ah, yes, I can clearly see how 'signifigantly' different these are...
  19. You couldn't have just said to some people all Rollies look the same? Eh.. Ken buy the one that grabs you, whatever it may be.
  20. Antique Elgin in gold with seconds @ 6 on gold chain link... Merry Christmas all. EDIT: What's wrong Hammie, never seen a real watch before?
  21. That's one of the things I am talking about Tourby... look at the jewel settings as well... the screws AND The settings appear different from base model E/U 6497, however, if these are better finished/different, why are the wheels' finished worse than the stock 6497?

    A picture

I hope the little one is ok after drinking that paint...
  23. This looks like a common Asian 6497, with Panerai engraved foil stickers... The current base ETA/Unitas 6497 is actually a bit uglier in it's finish, but it may be a "real" ETA/Unitas 6497 with a slightly higher grade of finish. Just doubtful... as Asians are commonly sold as Swiss, and ETA has eliminated most outside sales.
  24. You asked... Major flaws: The rehaut of the Turn-o-Graph is vertical... this one is wokky. The EverRose gold should be more pink/red. The White Dial should have White Gold indices and coronet, and in fact is intended for the White Gold model, the EverRose model should have a silver dial with EverRose Gold indices and Coronet... Minor flaws: Indices and Lume imprecise. The Seconds hand is a bit long.
  25. Very nice collection... Did any analysts notice the Gen 1675's crown guards yet? I love the asymmetry of KKS's exemplar... of course this will drive some people nuts.
