Welcome... Have fun...

I'd agree with most of your reasons for owning a Rep.. however, you can be sure that pro divers USE SD's... Rolex sells roughly 25% of ALL QUALITY SWISS WATCHES... I can guarantee they all aren't Safe Queens... don't believe it? Just look at TheMuck's limited sample of 17 divers and supervisory divers... SD's outnumber Subs 4 to 1, company issued (FREE!?!) Panerai 8 to 1, CHEAP G-Shocks 4 to 1, Breitling SO 8 to 1, Omega SM 8 to 1 and Divex 8 to 1 as well... with SD accounting for about HALF the dive watches in the sample... (and Subs outnumbering everything but SD and G-Shock 2 to 1... meaning Rolex itself accounted for over 5/8 ths of the sample.)

I like the Cestello too, haven't seen a rep of it yet.

Can't seem to keep his images straight with the descriptions... Item Number 220175281229 Notice his description states "Assumes dial redone" and "Has Rose", while the two least furry pics are of a more recent vintage dial... and there are obviously pics of two different watches... Why oh why do sheeple just muddle through, never elevating themselves to thought?

I've been using Palm since it was a Pilot, and have owned every major revision since the original, except the current LifeDrive... I've not migrated past the T|X, as it pretty much handles just about everything I require (or can personally justify to myself...) been using SSH for years on the platform (VNC too, for that matter)... without the Hype. As far as the interface and integration of the iPhone goes, I can agree, in principle, that it's a great breakthough in concept, and will affect future design... still, function as a whole is merely an incremental step, if any at all... As far as criticizms of the iPhone 'keyboard', I can only say, that with my overly-large hands, I was still able to nearly touch type on my ancient TRS-80 PC2, have no problems with using the stylus rapidly for the tiny Palm virtual kb, so, anything with larger 'keys' can only be better... Thanks for the great review Pug... you have moved the iPhone from my 'ignore' to my 'maybe' list...

10 more years of synthetic, spoon-fed Hegelian transcendent synthesis is all the difference it takes... and what a difference it makes... Good to see you about Ryy... I miss my drinking buddy.

So, you went from teaching at a school most likely populated by less privileged, more responsible, older students, where they actually go to achieve their goals and affect change in their position in life in the shortest possible time, to teaching at an institution where most likely, more privileged, spoiled kids are just parking their asses for 4-6 years after high school because they are expected to get that sheepskin, in order to get a decent job, and you wonder where the problem is? Not to make light of your situation, it sucks... but a talk with the senior faculty about the true nature of the undergraduate 'lack of' studies is probably in order, if you can't find the proper motivational spark for your group of brats as a whole.

Funny Toad... but I can assure you that currently with only 1 REP, (non-collector acquired), I have zero influence... almost all of mine are very old Gens... I know my photos are bad, but THAT bad?

Very Nice. Wear it in good health...

Gee, if Vic is nuts... what is to be said of my collection?
-
Funny Vic, but the Cabestan has a few more wheels than Franklin's (his had 3, and only 1 hand)... but quite astute observational humor in that the Cabestan resembles most old clocks, with the exception that it 'reads' on reels on it's shafts, instead of on hands on the ends of those shafts... the tourbillon/regulator is there... fusee... as is the winding key (crank)... just a bit smaller, and much more complicated... kind of reminds me (slightly) of a Ferguson that once crossed my path (endless chain)... too bad Vianney didn't add his "Equation of Time" complication to this piece while working on it with Jean... oddly... and probably unintentionally, with the 'stripes' between the plates, it is kind of reminiscent of the backside of one of Jean's other projects... the Monaco V4 belt driven concept... which kind of reminds me of the stripes on the face of the other 'BUSY' Anniversary Monaco..

I've got a spare generic bracelet you can use for parts... PM me -
With a "little" wiggle room that could last years... Let's see... 100 watches... from each label... +1 of each in each available metal, variation combination and other material, with each available dial and available hand combination... 100 straps... from each favored brand, +1 of each in each available color, variation, combination and material... 100 bracelets... 1 for each watch, + 1 of each in each available metal, variation, combination and other material...

A shame one of the film crew didn't take advantage of the lax sentencing... 4years for chainsaw double homicide? Probably could've gotten a year at the Oslo Sjolyst Scandic for humanely putting MM out of our misery... -

Are you wanting it to "stand in" for a Cortebert-Rolex 618?

You can always do what I did... put the potentially dangerous stuff on a separate service... After years of trying to keep the kids away from 'hazardous behaviour' in their browsing, I finally broke down and added a third broadband service to the house... yup cable, dsl and clearwire... My network on cable with dsl backup, and them on a DMZ on secondary router in a low priority DMZ on the DSL router + clearwire... so they can enjoy the slow goodness of too large downloads and begin to understand how their voracious, messy d/l and browsing habits cause congestion and failures...

You need a pair of California dialed Rolexes... A 3131 and a 3359. 1/2 of your collection stole most of their style from them... they are definitely not too big... and antiques don't generally suffer from the "Is it real?" question.

Looking for a genuine speedy: would you pick a 321 or a 821?

Service every 2 - 2 1/5 years isn't completely out of line for an obsessive watch nut's chrono (1 shorter exception noted)... and all of the marks, except the "most recent" appear to be in the same hand (even that one is similar... yeah, same watchmaker everytime, or??)... but there are NONE prior to 2000... meaning unserviced 33 years? or wiped out by the new watchmaker? Or since they all appear to be the same ink... buy a sharpie and mark up the case back of a really good, 'new' franken-watch to improve it's story, and try and disguise your handwriting for one of the 'service' marks when they think of it??? That and the really nasty looking 're-lume' (if it is a re-lume) and various crap 'under glass' give me pause... I like the "maybe a meet could be arranged" ... so questions can be answered... or was that so pockets could be forcibly emptied of large amounts of cash intended for purchase? I also like the "it
