  1. Watches -- Modern - mostly stainless, mostly bracelets -- Vintage - mostly gold, some stainless and chrome, some pockets with chain.... all varieties of bracelets, some leather straps Titanium ring (size 16) 22" Strand of black pearls When I was younger, several earrings. No tattoos.
  2. Ass ugly Sub today, new 11.5" 20mm NATO strap...
  3. Actually Lanikai, I am in Puyallup (home of Megan Qwan), and my day job is in Fife (home of the latest domestic "road side bombs"), just saying Seattle usually saves the time of answering the question, where the heck is that?
  4. Gee, I'm sorry I missed this thread... I would never hack a Tudor, that hadn't already been hacked. BUT, I did see a hacked one that I was flirting with, put a low bid on it to keep track of it...... Had I known you were looking I would have posted the link so you could've bought it. Best franken I have seen in a while... because it was unique. I probably wouldn't have changed it myself, and I don't think too many people realized what it was. Why? Because it was a Tudor Sub cased, hi-beat ZODIAC SST, and it sold for a little more than $200. Forum, may I present to you the ZODOR.
  5. It could possibly be welded, but given the location, size, type of steel and the requirement to preform a nearly impossible re-tap.... I'd have to say too much trouble for a possible solution at best. JB Weld IS a good idea, if you want it to have a chance at being somewhat water resistant. Just don't get over zealous with the dremel again when grinding it down.
  6. I know where the tobacco dialed 55 and 33 can find a nice home.....
  7. Nah Lanikai, my wrist is just a little larger than 9.5". If I were to try to wear my watch half-way up my arm, (which probably fits the "When does a watch become gay" criteria) I'd need something more like a 16" dog collar.
  8. Hmmm... cutesy name like "ROO" for a watch... must be...
  9. Ouch. You realize that this will just mean additional, unusual wear. Sounds like the lever is deforming under normal operation, and is a known problem (since there was a "solution"), but if you just horse the pusher over to hit the lever, it will probably keep bending till you can't reach it anymore.. (all the while damaging the pusher/stem/tube through intentional abuse as well)
  10. Heh, cyanoacrylate fuming. Could be useful, but only if you wish a permanent, foggy, aged look. However, if you leave any prints on the inside, you will end up developing the print like a mini CSI lab.
  11. At about 1/2" to a link, I'd need at least 4, maybe 5. Does the collector sell individual links?
  12. trance, thumb at 12... push the bezel down (toward the lug, not the case), pry up with case knife or butter knife or whatever at 5-6... Even more fun trying to put it back.... (don't try and put that long ass spring in it's hole first... lay it in the bezel and set it as you are putting the bezel on...) Yes, with an aftermarket plexi it will make a fairly decent near vintage. BTW: how's the crystal?
  13. Maybe the OJ in the fridge leaves Bruno Magli prints in the butter while stabbing you multiple times with a sharp carrot, before stealing "his" reps back.
  14. T.A.C.O. heh..
  15. Not all of us Germanic tow-heads are gay, even if we choose to wear pearls on occasion... and no, not those big, fake ass "shell-pearls" the party boys wear down Miami way... VB, you can tap my crystals any time, and you may even get a chance to see some of my movements.
  16. Hey, those birds weren't wearing watches....
  17. I dig the building for the technical challenges in it's construction. Near the edge of a tiny island, barely more substantial than a giant sandbar, we have 60 gold covered floors balanced above an aquarium sitting upon a cavernous, below sea-level theater where no one's view is obstructed by posts, as there are none. Makes the heart beat a little faster when thinking of it, no? Good eye on the pearls. As to my own appearance, blue-eyed, beefy blond would fit, but I am from thoroughbred country. My wardrobe? More than one watch for every day of the year and a simple, single strand of nice black pearls.
  18. Damn you Pug, how am I gonna enjoy my watches now that I'm deaf and blind?
  19. Size matters, but how about making one that doesn't break?
  20. Guanaco - I have two and a half words for you.... Rolex Tru-Beat. VB - You still haven't told me what you thought of the pearls...
  21. Hey Nanuq, if their offspring have Daddy's date font and Mommy's bracelet, I'll take the whole litter! Gens? I am only trying to collect one of everything... with every option... from every year... I don't have a problem... Really... I can stop anytime... After I'm finished. Reps? I bet every damn professional Rep-hater there is will be beating down my door to have their pic taken with my super-rep when completed.
  22. Even Rolex made quartz, and better than that Rolex made automatics that 'ticked' well before quartz was established. Invicta? Love their catalog... have most of their catalog... the only company to sell watches with bands that actually fit me without resizing. Oh, and how come no one ever says that they liked Ms. Galor's GMT in Goldfinger? I always thought the ORIGINAL GMT (plastic nuke bezel) looked a lot better on her, than Bond's 5508 on that way too narrow NATO strap. Remember guys, if you want the "REALLY REAL" Bond look you gotta have a 8mm crown and a 16mm NATO. Better images of DLI63 for you VB...
  23. My dear Victoria, as I am a southern gentleman, you may feel free to presuppose that I would dare not deign to initiate a conversation that may invite critique of any lady's personal attributes. You may also assume that I can be precisely vague at times, vaguely precise at others, have more than one idiosyncratic bone in my body and have been known to artfully engage in the oft misunderstood southern custom of social flirting. And actually, DLI63 is quite an amazing piece of architecture. Under varying conditions... it can nearly disappear in a blue sky, provide an amazing display of gold against the dusk, and reflect the last rays of the day with major dramatic effect. (A very elegant middle finger to "the North" when it was built, and at the time, the tallest skyscraper in asia, now just the 3d tallest in Seoul.) Actually, I did misspeak earlier, a little.. nearly the entire exterior is gold-leafed save the windows, of which, most are gold sputtered, hot new tech at the time... Look up DLI63 with Google images, I am sure you will find a few nice ones among the next generation camera batteries.
  24. And your opinion on Kathleen's Pearls, dear? I used to call tomes such as Dava's "Popcorn books"... mildly satisfying fluff that you can finish off rather quickly.
  25. Reps? Umm... a recently aquired, ass ugly 6538, with incorrect everything, call it spa replacement everything..... maybe $2,500. If it were correct, much more. Oh, and that "priceless" rep I am building myself. Gens, I have no idea, and I really don't want to know. I buy them for the sheer enjoyment. Today's arrivals were a 1967 17 Jewel Chrome and Stainless Waltham and a rather large antique 10KGF Elgin, yesterday was a pair of Sheffield All Sports. It never stops!
